CHA Summer: Pink Paislee

Today I'm sharing some photos from the
PINK PAISLEE
booth at the CHA Summer show in Las Vegas this past week.
I had the opportunity to work the booth, help customers with orders
and meet a lot of great people!  It was an honor to represent such
fabulous companies as Pink Paislee and Heidi Swapp.

I missed getting a picture of Santa, but he sat on the bench and took pictures
with the fans of Pink Paislee!  The photos were then used in a cute make-and-take.

Before the show opened we were given an overview of all of the wonderful new product!

On the opposite side is where all of the new Heidi Swapp products were displayed.
And there is Heidi working diligently in preparation for her product demo!

I love Snow Village!...above are two of my cards (to the left), as well as the
lovely advent frame by Betsy Veldman and mini album by Leslie Ashe

Pretty cone trees and more sweet cards by Betsy Veldman and Danielle Flanders

Color Wash and Hey Kid were so popular at the show!  Here are a few cards
by myself, Diana Fisher and Leslie Ashe

And the cutest Hey Kid scalloped mini album by Jess Mutty!

I had one card picked up for publication, but I'm happy to share all of the other
cards that I created especially for the show.
These two are from the Color Wash Collection

From the Hey Kid Collection

The last two are from the Snow Village Collection

All of the newest Pink Paislee Collections were revealed on the Pink blog week
before last just in cased you missed seeing everything in detail.
Product will begin shipping to your local stores and online retailers in mid-September.

 Have a fantastic week!

Monthly Life Album

In keeping with the spirit of project life, I've created a
"monthly life" scrapbook album/journal using Bella Blvd's new
DAILY CHEVIES COLLECTION

This sheet of Daily Chevies double-sided paper was my inspiration:
You can preview the entire collection on the blog --here--

With all of the ‘collage’ making software available today, I thought this album would be
a fun way to showcase a small collage (or single) photo that reflects the highlights of each month.
I pulled various seasonal components from new and previous Bella Blvd collections.
The “Daily Chevies” cut-out cards featuring each month of the year were the inspiration for
creating this type of album. These cards are also perfect for your 3X4 page protector sheets too!

If you are a collector of Bella Blvd goodies then this is a great opportunity to mix & match
from previous collections, as well as new...that's one of the beauties of Bella Blvd!

Vintage Summer Layout

Hello!  I'm just a few hours home from the CHA Summer Show
and am working on just a couple of hours of sleep, but I had to share my
latest layout that I created with Little Yellow Bicycle's "Vintage Summer" Collection.
There are many more projects using this collection up on the blog too!

This layout was inspired by the quilted patterned paper in the collection.
I even used the same stitching design (found on the paper) around the edge of the mat.

I layered the various blooms with foam dots and then topped two of them with pieces from the
Fabric Favorites. With all of the vertical elements going on, I decided to add the cute chipboard
scallop border to the bottom of each photo; I just trimmed them as needed and then added a
wooden button for even more visual interest and texture.

If you would like a list of the Little Yellow Bicycle supplies used, just click --here--

I'll be back tomorrow with some photos from CHA!

All Bella!

Happy Friday, peeps!
Today I'm sharing all of the brand new collections for
BELLA BLVD SUMMER CHA 2013
Now, you can try to 'win-it-before-you-can-buy-it' at the Bella Blog
**Lots of photos below so hang in there :) **

My two cards for the Snapshots Collection

I used the large heart die-cut (Paper Pieces) as the anchor for this design…everything added to the
card was tied to the heart in some fashion.  Always liking to add as many different textures as
possible, I took the top part of a feather and attached it to the back of the heart so that it would
fan across the one side.  I find that thin adhesive dots work really well with the feathers!

When designing a larger card (5X7) and using a standard journal card (3X4), I like to mat the
journal card onto a separate piece of patterned paper so that I can adjust the height as needed.
Borders stickers and cut-outs can also help to stretch the design, as well as add visual interest.

I loved the challenge of trying to think of inventive new ways to use the Crochet Hearts!
After turning them to-and-fro, I decided that the heart could take on the shape of an “A” or a “V”.
To give a little more detail, I used a large embroidery needle and crochet thread to outline the
heart into an “A”. I love this card…it made me happy, happy, happy!

A deck of playing cards was my inspiration for this beautiful black and red combo.
I layered three of the McIntosh Crochet Hearts together to form an even larger heart!
To change the look up just a bit, I added the wooden button with the black print.

I didn't create any samples with Play Date, but isn't it cute!?!

I widened the speech bubble on this card by sketching in a pencil line onto a white cardstock
and then machine-stitching around the edge.  This could easily be turned into a masculine card
by omitting the ribbon bow and adding a mustache embellishment in its place!

I love the look of subway art and use it a lot in my card designs.  It’s clean and linear and
so easy to put-together with Bella Blvd’s new Daily Chevies!  I did add a little POP by
using foam dots under the banner stickers.

This mini album is a mini version of project life.  With all of the ‘collage’ making software available
today, I thought this album would be a fun way to showcase a small collage (or single) photo
that reflects the highlights of each month.  I pulled various seasonal components from new
and previous Bella Blvd collections.  The “Daily Chevies” cut-out cards featuring each month
of the year were the inspiration for creating this type of album.
These cards are also perfect for your 3X4 page protector sheets too!
**I will post the inside pages of the album in the weeks to come**

For this mini album I started with a black scalloped chipboard album that I thought would
best represent “Trick or Treat’s” whimsy.  The cover was inspired by all of the cute houses
found in the collection.  I used a template that I had on hand and cut the shape from
chipboard before attaching the patterned papers.  The large star die-cut made the perfect
focal point for the front of the house.  I love the new Paper Pieces packs that
Bella Blvd has created for these new collections!
**I will post all photos of this album in the weeks to come**

Journal cards also make great focal points for cards!  To fill in the white space,
I punched a large snowflake from white paper...it’s subtle and doesn’t take away from the
artwork  and other embellishments that were added.

When thinking up a design for this card, pretty packages came to mind.
Strips of Designer Tape mimic lengths of ribbon wrapped around a present.  I added a die-cut
behind the scalloped sticker and added it to the side of the card as one would a nice
full bow on a gift box.

 ----------------------------------------------------------------------
That wraps up my share of Bella Blvd Summer CHA 2013 projects!
Again, don't forget to comment on the Bella Blog each day this week to have a
chance at the 'win it before you can buy it' promotion...good luck!

I'll be leaving for Las Vegas on Sunday!  If you're attending the show, you can
find me at the Pink Paislee Booth #600 before noon on Tuesday and Wednesday
and all day on Thursday :)  Also, follow me on Instagram...I plan on posting pictures!
See you when I get back...Ciao!
