An Enchanted Princess

This past Saturday I shared over at
SIMPLE STORIES
a perfectly adorable and "Enchanted" door hanger for any little princess in your life!

I started with a sheet of heavy weight chipboard and an album die from Top Dog Dies
but any pre-made chipboard shape would work. Next, I cut the shape from the
"Dreams Come True" paper and distressed around the edges with a
walnut ink before attaching to the chipboard base.

The edge was trimmed in a pom pom ribbon along the back of the chipboard.
For a nice finishing touch, I also covered the back in a coordinating paper.

The focal point of the hanger was made with a couple of die-cut hearts from the
Enchanted 6X6 Paper Pad and the center piece is a smaller chipboard shape
hosting the sweet sentiment that was cut from the 4X6 Journaling Card Elements paper.

Extra dimension was added with various chipboard stickers pieces, decorative Bradz,
Enamel Dots and Bits & Pieces die cuts.  To create the hanger, two holes were
punched at the top and a strand of 1.5" grosgrain ribbon was strung through and then
knotted at the ends.  Two boutique style bows were made and then attached
above the knotted ribbon ends.  Now it's all ready for gift-giving or hanging!

Feather Poetry

Hi, everyone! I was up on the
 Echo Park Paper Blog
yesterday with this cute DIY framed art piece that I made with the
"Anything Goes" Stamps, paper and a few accents.
You will also find a FREE printable for the poem if you'd
like to create one for yourself!

I love the look of matte, so I painted an old gold frame with
black matte spray paint and removed the glass so that the embellishments
really pop!  You can see lots more and instructions on how I put it together:

Have a ter-rific week!

Mini BFF Valentines

Hello!  I have a collection of mini Valentine cards up at
SCRAPTASTIC KIT CLUB
using the February "It Takes Two" Kit and Add-On Kit!

These were made at the request of my daughter, for her three ‘besties’ on Valentine’s Day :)  They’re hip and fun and perfect for 13 year-old girls!

First I started with a sheet of 12X12 white cardstock from the kit and cut it down to
measure 7″ X 4.25″.  The pieces were then scored so that the card measures
3.5″ X 4.25″ when folded; these are an A1 sized card.

The first card includes the retro inspired ferris wheel sticker from the large sticker
sheet by Echo Park.  The 3-D stickers by Crate Paper are glittered in gold, so the
little arrow gave the right amount of shine.

The second card showcases the softer side of the kit with the light wood grain and
chipboard accents by Crate Paper.  I wanted to pic up on the bit of turquoise
blue in the mat paper, so I added the acrylic heart and topped it with a sticker.

This final card is all things X’s and O’s!  There are many elements that boast the hugs
and kisses symbolism in the kits.  I went with the red and blue pieces and built this
really cute card.  Just leave off the bow and you have a sweet, but masculine card.

As of today, these kits are still available, as well as other exclusive
Scraptastic Club goodies!  Check it out

A Lucky Charm

Sharing a project that I had up with Authentique Paper yesterday
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Creating a lucky charm for your home to celebrate St. Patrick's Day couldn't
be easier with a heart template and a helping of the "Lucky" Collection by
AUTHENTIQUE PAPER
blog.authentiquepaper.com

To begin, a 4.5" X 4.5" heart die, template or cutting file will be needed;
or free-hand the shape.  Cut the heart four times from the Lucky One paper.
For a sturdier hanging, the individual hearts may also be backed with
 a lightweight chipboard.

Arrange the hearts so that all of the points are facing in towards the center.
Place a large circle of paper at the back of the hearts and adhere in the
center to hold the hearts in place.

Accent the base hearts with a smaller, scrolled version from the Lucky Four paper
Distress around the edges of the shapes with a walnut ink, if desired.

The vintage motif was trimmed from the Lucky Two paper and added to
the center (of the now) four-leaf-clover.  The edge of the design was glittered
 with a emerald green glitter.

Two shamrocks were hand-cut from the Lucky Three paper and adhered
below the vintage image.  The sticker sentiment was added to the center
and a row of fun buttons were arranged at the top.

Any type of material can be used for the hanger: jute, twine, ribbon, wire, etc.
Add a pretty bow to one side and you have the luckiest of lucky charms
ready to meet your St Patrick's Day guests!
