Cards With "I Am"

Hello! Today I'm up at the
SIMPLE STORIES BLOG
with a set of cards using the beautiful new "I Am" Collection.
The collection is filled with all sorts of sweet sentiments that are perfect
for cards, or if you prefer, use the pretty papers and embellishments to
create an assortment of plain note cards!

For the first card I used a 3" and 4" circle die to cut the 6X6 patterned papers.
The circles were layered together with foam adhesive and black pom pom trim was
adhered to the back of the larger circle and then attached to the card front.

The typewriter sticker was embellished with one of the cute clips, a label sticker and
butterfly sticker.  And I love that the new adhesive brads!  A small strip of washi tape
was applied to a scrap piece of paper and then added to the bottom.

The focus of this next card was the adorable chipboard frame!
The inset of the frame was filled with one of the smaller journal cards and then layered
onto a black mat.

In keeping with the floral pattern on the frame, matching patterned paper
(for the card base) and stickers were used.  The gold foil chipboard pieces add
just the right amount of glitz and shine.

Picture Perfect Platter

Monday Greetings!
I am sharing an altered platter today at
BASIC GREY

Flea market finds such as old platters, plates or saucers can easily be transformed
into a delightful altered keepsake.  I have taken an oval platter and dressed up the center
of it with a paper-quilted collage that starts with a chipboard cut-out and strips of
patterned papers from the J’Adore Collection.

First, I traced the inner part of the platter and then cut the shape out from a medium
weight chipboard.  Next, 1″ strips of paper were cut and placed across the
 chipboard at a diagonal.

The paper’s overhang was trimmed off and then machine-stitches were made
between each strip. A pom pom trim was adding around the back edge of the chipboard
and the piece was adhered to the center of the platter with a high-tack adhesive glue.

Die-cuts from Spellbinders were used in creating the lacy heart embellishments.
The platter can be hung from a plate hanger or displayed on an easel.

Color Chaos

It's time for a bit of "unlimited inspiration" from
BELLA BLVD
this week!  Today the new "Color Chaos" collection projects are being shared.
Check out the blog to see even more ideas :)

I have three cards that were designed for the booth at CHA:
“Count Your Blessings” card
By placing two of the diagonal striped patterns going in the opposite direction, an
eye-catching herringbone pattern is created. The journal card is so beautifully done
in color and fonts, so only a couple of embellishments were needed to complete the card.
A small section of the scalloped border sticker was added with foam adhesive.

Supplies: Color Chaos: Gulf Strandz, Peep Strandz, Orange Strandz, Just Write
Journaling, Trinkets, Treasures & Text; Simply Spring: Chipboard Icons; Enamel Dots: Ice

 “Best Version of You” card
Use simple-shaped die-cuts to give a different look to journal cards. Here, I die-cut
a mat from a Clear Cut sheet and then layered it on top patterned paper, which was
cut the same size. The red enamel heart gave a pop of color to the journal card and
the bottom was softened with the addition of a Bella Bow.

Supplies: Color Chaos: Oreo Black Strandz, Gulf Strandz, Daily Details, Words of
Wisdom, Trinkets; Clear Cut: Ice Confetti; Enamel DooDads: McIntosh; Bella Bows: Ice

 "Celebrate Today" card
Cut a mat to be the same height as the 3X4 journal card; center the journal card horizontally
and then flank each side with pieces of the scalloped border sticker. Adding enamel dots
to the centers of the scallops gives extra dimension and also draws attention to the
outline of the shape. Embellish with a cute chipboard shape and the card is complete!

Supplies: Color Chaos: McIntosh Strandz, Ice Strandz, Words of Wisdom,
Treasures & Text; Ciao Chipboard: Flowers & Clouds; Enamel Dots: Bell Pepper

It was such fun and a pleasure to once again meet up with the Bella Blvd
team at the show!  The booth looked absolutely adorable and the contributing
designers' projects were seriously amazing!  Stay tuned for more new
projects in the coming weeks.
Have a great weekend!
