Mixed & Matched

It's Mix & Match day at
PINK PAISLEE
 and I have two cards to share combining the
 three new collections: Hello Sunshine, Pen Pals & Switchboard

For this card, I selected elements from the Switchboard and Pen Pals collections.
  When making cards, I like to use the 6X6 Paper Pads since the designs are at a smaller scale.
 The reddish tones in the two collections are different, so I chose to use only pieces from
Switchboard that boasted the color. From there I picked the subtle pink and navy,
 which can be found in both lines.

I used two nesting, scrolled dies from Spellbinders to create the layering pieces of patterned paper.
 I wanted to tie back in with the Chain Letter Paper (triangular grid) found on the base of the card,
so I die-cut a small oval on which the chipboard phone was attached to. I trimmed off the ‘hello’
 from the ‘hello friend’ puffy sticker before adhering. The Pen Pals’ Chipboard Alphabet
 letters in tiny banner shapes are a great size for cards!

This next card is a mixture of Pen Pals and Hello Sunshine. As with the first card, I selected
 the different papers that held some of the same colors in both collections. Here, I chose the
 yellow tones from Hello Sunshine and used only blues from the Pen Pals Collection
The reds and pinks from both lines match, so I was free to add any of those in from either collection.

I love the diagonal pink/red striped paper from Pen Pals. The lines juxtapose about every inch,
so I used that as my guide for cutting the banner strips of paper, which I attached with foam adhesive.
 Again, I focused only on the yellow hue from Hello Sunshine and tried to keep the Pen Pals
 colors focused on the red, pink and navy.

Pink Paislee has also shared a glimpse of their new Summer collection: Solstice

 Gold foam stickers....yummy!

That's all from me today!

Mixin' & Matchin'

   **500th POST GIVEAWAY**
This is post #497...be sure that you are a follower of my blog
as I will be giving away a GRAND PRIZE on the 500th post!

We're mixing and matching over at the Bella Blvd Blog today!
It's so helpful when a company uses the same color palette throughout their
collections as Bella does.  I can look for a particular pattern of paper from the
Christmas Countdown Collection without having
to worry if the colors will clash with the snowman from Winter Wishes.

I've chosen up to four different collections and put them into one design...it was actually quite fun!

For this card I stayed with the rule of three ... three colors and three focal points (hearts) that created
 the visual triangle. The crochet hearts alone looked a little lonely, so I hand-cut three of the hearts
 from the Chevy Peep paper and sanded around the edges before attaching them.

 Supplies:Snapshots: Daily Details; Freestyle Sophisticates: Freestyle Pickle Juice;
 Daily Chevies: Chevy Peep; Play Date: Chasing Rainbows, Tabs, We Are Family Bookplates;
Button Market: Fruit Punch; Crochet Hearts: Pickle Juice

 This was a quick card to put together and a great way to use up those scraps!
 When working with an A2 card (4.25 X 5.5) just cut four strips of paper to 1" X 5.25".
I used a square punch (insert tip of paper in at an angle) to create a banner look for each strip.
Before adding the Flag, I cut it in half on the diagonal so that it would match up with the point of the star.

 Supplies:Christmas Countdown: City Sidewalks, Captions; Snapshots: My Point of View, Tabs, Paper Pieces; Play Date: Today is Beautiful; Trick or Treat: Happy Owlween; Flags:Sunshine & Happiness; Sienna Chipboard Alphas: Pickle Juice

 More fun ideas up on the blog today

And we're closing in on the 500th Post Giveaway!
So far I have rounded up goodies from Pink Paislee, Prima, The Crafter's Workshop,
Maya Road, May Arts Ribbon and Authentique Paper...and I'm not done yet :)

Mixed & Matched

We're mixing things up a bit over at
IMAGINISCE BLOG
this week with a product
MIX & MATCH

Each Design Team Member was asked to create a project
using THREE (3) different collections from Imaginisce.
I went with a 12x12 layout and a neat sketch from Page Maps
This is of my middle son's (Zachry) 8th Grade Graduation

I used patterned papers from {Hello Cupcake: Red Dot}
{Sole Sisters: Stripe} and {Makin' Waves: Blue Chevron}
These are ALL the reverse side patterns of the papers, which makes most ALL
Imaginisce products easy to Mix & Match :)
Cardstock by Coredinations.

Here is the sketch:
And yes, I stayed exactly with the sketch...as if you couldn't tell all ready LOL
It's a week's worth of MIX & MATCH projects, so come on by and see us

MY SCRAPBOOK NOOK

It's Wednesday and that means that I have another Cards Challenge.
This week it's a CARDS SKETCH CHALLENGE to be exact!

The Sketch:
My Card:
For my interpretation of the sketch, I moved everything to the center.
Using the July Nook Kit, I layered a couple of the Jillibean Soup
labels and added a punched heart to the center.
Everything is from the kit with the exception of the punched leaves,
orange pearls and jute twine.
My Scrapbook Nook always have the BEST kits with the most
up-to-date papers and embellishments!
