  I have a handsome mini album to share that I've made using
Authentique Paper's
Suave Collection and a chipboard album by Leaky Shed Studios!

The cover of the chipboard album comes with a die-cut overlay of numerals.
 To distress this, I used some Black Velvet Color Shine Spray and painted it on
 with a paintbrush. 

I love using the collection's 6X6 Paper Bundles for things such as die-cuts, photo mats, etc.
 For the cover, I added layers of die-cuts, punch-outs and stickers, along with some
 textured embellishments like cork arrows, ribbon and a button.

I like that the album size is 7"W X 6"H...this allows room at the side for the binding,
without taking away from the design area of the pages! 

Corrugated paper is also a nice accent for boys' pages!  

And on the bottom photo you can see how I added some dimension to the hinge
 stickers with some hand-stitching and a brad.

Plain chipboard, kraft and wooden veneers also go well with the Suave Collection.

Grunge the pieces up with ink if you'd like!

 In finishing the album, I glued on a lime green jute around the edge of the chipboard pages..
yet another great element for a boy's themed project!

This was my first experience working with Leaky Shed Studio products
...what a delight... I cannot wait to try out more of their fabulous goods! 

For my assignment today I chose the Love Squared Album and paired it up with the 
Smitten Collection by Authentique.

  The cover of the album is cut into the LOVE motif shown. I simply traced it onto
two different patterned papers (one for the front and one for the back) and then cut out.
 I used a craft knife to carve out the inner-parts.  For a more finished look, I added a detail
 of baker's twine around the edge of the letters.  To do so, I like to use a fine-point
glue pen and then press the twine into place.

Not wanting to take away from what the album actually spelled out, I decided to focus the
 embellishments around the letter "O".  I backed the opening with a tracing of the shape
 and then added the cupid chipboard cut-out over it.  I glittered the cupids using a
glitter glue and glitter by Martha Stewart. 

The inner pages are a nice, large 9.5" X 9.5" size...lots of room for pictures.
 On the first inside page I didn't want to compete with the front cover, so I made
sure to place the sticker where it wouldn't show through the lettering.

No need to cut!  The 6X6 paper pad bundle pages make the perfect mats! 
I added a little zig-zag stitching around the edge...keeps things in place, plus adds a nice detail :)

I turned the pretty scroll pieced chipboard pink by using a VersaMagic "Pixie Dust" ink pad!
  After dabbing on the color, I used my heat gun to dry and set the ink.

And on this final page, I left the key as-is...I love the little detail engrained into the piece!

My personal preference for adhering the thick cardstock paper (such as Authentique's)
to the chipboard is to use Sookwang adhesive tape.

The album also comes with three large rings to hold the pages together.  Tie on some pretty
ribbons in knots and bows and you'll have a beautiful keepsake to give or keep!
