Pinfluence: Spring Inspired

Greetings! Yesterday I was up on the
with a couple of takes on fun finds found on Pinterest.
I went in search of things that reminded me of Spring:
rain showers, umbrellas, Easter eggs, rabbits, etc.
In doing so, I came up with these two pins that inspired the cards featured here.
We are calling this ‘Pinfluence.”
Both of my cards were created using the brand new “Hello Sunshine Collection”

For my first card, I've used this vintage Easter postcard:

Next, I went on hunt to find the perfect cutting file that combined a similar bunny and Easter eggs.
Following the color pattern, I selected various papers from Hello Sunshine and began
cutting all of the pieces. The end result is this nostalgic card:
Before assembling the pieces, I did add some shading around the edges with chalk.
Foam adhesive also gives more personality as you begin layering on the pieces.

The egg was also decorated in iridescent glitter, a vellum word and a couple of strands
of baker’s twine glued into place.

I think that the Puddle Jumper Paper is the perfect background for the bunny card…
after-all, a little rain never stopped the Easter bunny :)

My next point of inspiration is a photograph that I found on Pinterest:
I was enamored by the cool rings created by the drops of rain and brought that look to my next card

To create the background, I started with a piece of paper cut from the Happy Days Paper.
To that I added raindrops using a stencil and Pearl Modeling Cream; this gives a nice dimension to the background. Allow the modeling cream to dry and then begin embellishing.

For the puddle I used nesting circle dies and cut out various patterns and then layered them
together with foam adhesive. For the sentiment, I trimmed down one of the vellum tags
and attached it to the side of the puddle with glue dots.

Add even more dimension to the raindrops with those adorable Puffy Stickers.
And that’s a wrap-up for my Pinterest inspired cards for today…hope you enjoyed!

On another note, I'm so very SUPER excited to share that my card using
this same "Hello Sunshine" Collection will grace the cover of the
Spring Edition of CARDMAPS4 by Scrapbook & Cards Today and PageMaps!

**Pre-orders will begin on March 14th and will be shipped in April**

I've Been Scrapbooked!

There is nothing quite as fun as stalking around the internet
and finding a layout with YOU in it!

JANUARY PAGEMAPS
features a few of the designers from Scraptastic Kit Club, where Carol Monson shared her layout.
I met Carol in July at the CHA Summer show in Las Vegas, but we've been online
buddies for a couple of years now!
I very much agree with what she journaled and I can't wait to see you all again :)

Here is the 12X12 Sketch that Carol used:

June Bug

Happy one-day-closer-to-the-weekend day!
I'm just getting to all of the goodies that I've shared this month over at
DOODLEBUG DESIGNS
So, I thought a "June Bug" post would be appropriate :)

"My Sweet Trio" Layout is a take on this Page Map sketch by Becky Fleck.
All papers are from the Fruit Stand Collection

The entire design team picked a different sketch to use, so be sure to check out the blog!

Originally a "father's day" themed card, but I think that it could be used for any dad-day-occasion :)
All papers are from the Stars & Stripes Collection

Sydnee gave this card to one of her teachers at the end of the school year.
This was made for Doodlebug's "Summer Inspiration" segment using the Fruit Stand Collection.

And Doodlebug isn't just for fun girl's stuff, we have a masculine side too!
Here I used Boys Only Collection, along with DB cardstock and Take Note.

--LAS VEGAS--LAS VEGAS--LAS VEGAS--
Things are getting in high gear for the Create 'N Connect show in Las Vegas next month
(formerly CHA).  I'll be knee-deep in booth projects so you may not 'see' too much of me between
now and then.  I can't wait to share with you all of the fabulous new things coming this
Fall and Winter...yep, it's all ready time to start thinking about those Autumn and Christmas items :)
If you're coming to the show, I hope to meet you!
I will be working in the Pink Paislee booth at some time and will also be visiting the other
manufacturers that I'm currently designing for:
Authentique, Bella Blvd, Doodlebug Designs and Simple Stories
(Little Yellow Bicycle will not be attending the Summer show...I know, I'm sad too!)
I plan on posting as many photos as I can possibly load to Instagram, so be sure to follow!

As always, thanks for visiting me today!

Page Maps + Little Yellow Bicycle

I love creating with Page Maps!
This month the design team of Little Yellow Bicycle was invited to
play along with all sorts of fantastic sketches by Becky Fleck.
Generally layouts aren't my 'thing' so I figured why not be up for a real
challenge and go for something other-than a 12X12...
yep, I got the Double 12X12 :)

I kept everything pretty much true to the sketch, but moved the smaller photos down
to the bottom.

I used several of the elements from the Fern & Forest Girl and Naturals Collections.
All of the butterfly motifs were perfect for these photos of Sydnee chasing butterflies last Spring!

If you love creating with sketches then head on over to Page Maps!
I like to download each month's Maps and store them in clear sheet protectors that
I've put into a 3-Ring binder.

And you can find Fern & Forest and Naturals at Little Yellow Bicycle
www.shop.mlyb.com

I hope you all have an exciting National Scrapbook Day tomorrow!
I'll be having a yard sale with my mom, but I'll be along later to share some
fun things that I've created just for the special day :)
Ciao!

Page Mapped

**I have two sketch posts up today...please scroll on down to see the other :)**

It's always great fun to do a layout with an original Becky Fleck sketch!
January's Page Maps features a few of the Simple Stories Design Team members
and I just happen to be one of them who got to play along.

The 12x12 Sketch

And my layout using the brand new Vintage Bliss

I know I've said it before, but I flat-out L-O-V-E this whimsical collection!
If you trend towards fun, bright and girly, then this is a must-have :)

See all of the fabulous January Page Maps right here
If you're not familiar with the site, you can also download the entire month's worth
(and previous months) of layout and card sketches via PDF formant, which makes it
super easy for viewing.  I have a large 3-ring binder that I keep all of my Page Maps in!
A wonderful tool...and it's FREE :)
Thanks so much for dropping in today...enjoy the sketches!

Mixed & Matched

We're mixing things up a bit over at
IMAGINISCE BLOG
this week with a product
MIX & MATCH

Each Design Team Member was asked to create a project
using THREE (3) different collections from Imaginisce.
I went with a 12x12 layout and a neat sketch from Page Maps
This is of my middle son's (Zachry) 8th Grade Graduation

I used patterned papers from {Hello Cupcake: Red Dot}
{Sole Sisters: Stripe} and {Makin' Waves: Blue Chevron}
These are ALL the reverse side patterns of the papers, which makes most ALL
Imaginisce products easy to Mix & Match :)
Cardstock by Coredinations.

Here is the sketch:
And yes, I stayed exactly with the sketch...as if you couldn't tell all ready LOL
It's a week's worth of MIX & MATCH projects, so come on by and see us

MY SCRAPBOOK NOOK

It's Wednesday and that means that I have another Cards Challenge.
This week it's a CARDS SKETCH CHALLENGE to be exact!

The Sketch:
My Card:
For my interpretation of the sketch, I moved everything to the center.
Using the July Nook Kit, I layered a couple of the Jillibean Soup
labels and added a punched heart to the center.
Everything is from the kit with the exception of the punched leaves,
orange pearls and jute twine.
My Scrapbook Nook always have the BEST kits with the most
up-to-date papers and embellishments!

See you all tomorrow for the
UNITY HIP HOP!

Imaginisce + Page Maps= FUN

As I've briefly mentioned before, a few of us from the
Imaginisce Design Team
were paired up with the talented Becky Fleck of
and the March Page Maps.
As a long-time fan of Beckys, I was thrilled to be the first to scrap this Double 8.5x11 sketch:

I used the happy BIRTHDAY BASH papers and Sticker Stackers by Imaginisce (love this!)
For the sweet banner, I simply cut the wording from one of the papers (which also has the look of a banner, so it's easy to follow).  The balloons were also hand-cut from one of the papers :)
Check out Becky's blog...she is having a contest using one of her sketches and
Imaginisce is sponsoring the prize...
The brand new Makin' Waves Collection pack and Foam Tape!

Thanks so much for stopping by...love having you here :)

Enjoy...Saturdays!

It is up!
My newest project for Little Yellow Bicycle.
Using their beautiful denim and wild-life inspired Saturday's Collection, I again created a mini album...go with what you know, right? :)
When I got my package and started sorting through the goodies, I knew immediately that I would turn this set of 6x6 textured Decorative Cardstock

into the base pages for the album!
When you have beautiful embellishments to go along with the patterned papers, it makes putting an album together so quick and easy.  I have detailed instructions up at the LYB Blog.

If you love burlap, twine, felt, wood and denim, then you will be over-the-moon-crazy for this collection!
I thank the Little Yellow Bicycle team for once again giving me the opportunity to do something FUN with their always wonderful products!
--------------------------------------------------------------
Back tomorrow with Totally Terrific Thursday at I Heart Ippity
and on Monday a few of us from the Imaginisce DT will be featured at
Becky Fleck's March Page Maps!

Happy Wednesday to all!
