Fringed!

My turn for a monthly tutorial over at
THE PAPER BAKERY KIT CLUB
I never really know about tutorials...this may be old news or completely new news to you,
but either way I hope you enjoy the little tut and a few projects with how I used the finished product.

How to make fringe from a sheet of tissue paper:

Here are two really cute things that I did with the fringe...albeit it's a little late for
Valentine's projects, but they could be easily adapted for other fun holiday packaging!
From a 6x12 piece of vellum, I made four small 2.5″ square pockets that I tucked printed Valentine coupons into!  A hand-cut heart and some fussy cutting from other papers added some whimsical charm.  I simply used a strong adhesive to attach the tissue fringe to the bottom of the pockets.

I created a small pocket with the vellum sheet included in the January Paper Bakery Scrapbook Kit.
I layered on various matted pieces of patterned paper, along with the sweet die-cuts from Pink Paislee!
I absolutely LOVE how the kraft tissue ties in with the sweet heart stickers, also found
in the kit.

I've had a creative blast working with the February Paper Bakery Kit.

A Snap!

It's Saturday night and I forgot to share my
card that I had up Wednesday at the Paper Bakery...even made
a 'note-to-self', but I'm just now finding it LOL

SNAP A SWEETHEART CARD
I loved working with the cute svg files from the January Paper Bakery Scrapbook Kit…
after cutting the pieces out, I set out to play!
I chose the camera die-cut and went from there building the focal point of my card.

I cut the base paper to 1/2″ smaller than the actual card.  Next, I cut a smaller mat from the clouds paper and corner rounded the edges to mimic the journal card by Pink Paislee.  Layers, layers and more layers!  A fussy cut piece of doily peeks out from under the hand-cut banner.  Use foam squares to create dimension and don’t be afraid to layer two foam pieces together to give an embellishment even more height.

Wanting another touch of the aqua color to tie in with the mat, I cut the word ‘sweetheart’ from the bottom of the clouds paper and attached it amongst the other little die-cuts that I clustered around the camera’s shutter. And a camera wouldn’t be a camera if it weren’t snapping a picture every-now-and-then.  Using a piercing tool and mat, I created holes that I stitched with baker’s twine to create a ‘flash’ effect!

The February Paper Bakery Kits will be on sale soon!

Handsome Snow Men

Happy Wednesday!
Today I have the first layout that I made with the January Add-On Kit from
PAPER BAKERY KITS

We experienced a 9" snowfall on Christmas night-into the day after Christmas this
past year. In all of my 40+ years I don't remember a white Christmas where we
live, so this was an extra special treat for us!
Of course, I grabbed the camera and got a lot of cute pictures of the boys at play:
HANDSOME SNOWMEN

I love that the spirograph looking paper from Studio Calico in a way resembles snowflakes.
I cut out several different sizes and added some with and without foam dots over
the top of the layout...tell me that they do look somewhat like snow falling from the sky LOL

The kit also includes the adorable clouds paper, which is new from American Crafts.
The clusters of clouds cut apart perfectly and I think they look perfect mixed in
amongst the snowflakes!

I cut the large title "Snowmen" with a personal cutting machine and then subtitled it with
the neat wood-grain alphabet stickers by October Afternoon (I'm addicted to these babies!)
A few wooden snowflakes from my stash ties in nicely with the masculine look of
the burlap paper by Simple Stories and the three handsome fellas in the photos ;)

The Paper Bakery offers Mixed Media, Scrapbook and Projects Kits!
January's kits are now available and won't last long...

Back in a little bit with an oh-so-sweetttt altered canvas that I made for Authentique
AND one of the very new collections that will debut today :)
