Simple Stories
Wall Hanging
Today is all about the newest Simple Stories Collection, I {Heart} Summer.
A Yummy Summer Treat
Putting this together was as easy as tracing the shapes onto selected I Heart Summer papers and then cutting out. I did machine stitch around the edges after adhering, but this is definitely optional. - See more at: http://simplestories.typepad.com/simple_stories/#sthash.UVGHUvPU.dpuf
Hello, hello, hello! After a monthly hiatus I'm so happy to be sharing today at Simple Stories.
In June they featured the new "Life Documented" Team who will be sharing
all things Project Life and SN@P related...lots of great ideas so be sure to visit the blog
Today is all about the newest Simple Stories Collection, I {Heart} Summer.
I love all of the different shapes of chipboard that you can find these days.
While browsing my local scrapbook store I picked up several pieces, two of which were a
'flower' and 'pennant' shape...the two came together to make the cutest ice cream cone!
Putting this together was as easy and tracing the shapes onto selected I Heart Summer
patterned papers and cutting out. I did machine stitch around the edges before adhering,
but this is completely optional.
patterned papers and cutting out. I did machine stitch around the edges before adhering,
but this is completely optional.
I embellished the ice cream portion with a cut-out from one of the 4X6 Jouranling Card Elements.
Before attaching (with foam tape) to the ice cream, I glued an edging of red ric rac around
the heart...I love the softness that it adds! A couple of embellishments from the Chipboard and
Layered Stickers and the front is complete.
For the hanger I used a thin-gauged wire (a thicker gauge would work better, but
I didn't have any on hand). I knotted on a rainbow of colorful ribbons and my hanger is complete!
SN@P Cuts! Wow! These are some amazing elements. Here I used it at as mat for
my card and added a background paper behind it. Yes, photographed it looks like a
diagonally striped paper, but in person it has just the slightest texture.
3X4 Journaling Cards are not only great for your SN@P albums, but they're also ideal
for cardmaking. Each card has the sweetest graphics...the work is done for you!
I topped off the layered bicycle sticker with a matching Flair Icon, a couple of stickers
and my card is complete...short and sweet :)
You can pick up the I {Heart} Summer Collection Kit AND the chipboard pieces
that I used at Scrapbooker's Emporium
I'll be back with a Little Yellow Bicycle gift bag tomorrow...see you then!

THE TIME OF MY LIFE TAG MINI ALBUM
I say that one can never have too many butterfly shapes in their collection!
For the cover, I've used the Elegant Butterflies Dies. I cut the same shape twice, embossed the top
piece and then layered together with a foam dot. I colored in the antennae with a brown ZIG marker.
I just fell in love with the cute shape of the Banner Day Die #1 and arranged it
(upside down) as a nice accent piece to the little focal point.
A woodgrain butterfly! This is the larger shaped butterfly from the same set as
mentioned above. I embellished his center with a mini clothespin and one of the tag stickers
from the "Lively" Collection by Authentique.
Next to butterflies, one can never have too many styles of leaf shapes...I adore this Leafy Branch Die.
I have all ready used it on a couple of different projects and changed up the look by clipping off
small pieces of the vine and tucking them behind flowers. Or, cut a few of the shape and make a
trailing vine on a scrapbook page or card!
Ah! An example of cutting the leafy branch die apart and fashioning them in fun ways.
I attached the pieces to the page using a small square foam dot for the larger leaves and then a
dab of glue on the stem and smaller leaves.
All of the pretty papers are from the Lively Collection (with the exception of the butterfly
motif paper that is a part of the Carefree Collection)...I'd never realized how well these two paper lines
coordinated until I spread it all out together! #sometimesyoujustneedtolook :)
I really like using these mini tag albums for small gifts or for brag books. There are several shapes
available at Scrapbooker's Emporium at Etsy...at a fantastic price too!
Thanks so much for joining me on today's hop!
**It's time now to head over to Wanda Guess' Blog**
Enjoy and don't forget to comment so you can be in the drawing for the Authentique Prize Pack :)

Jar chipboard album
October Afternoon Farmhouse
Scrapbooker's Emporium
A Jar + Farm Girl
I had the most wonderful time this past weekend at a scrapbooking retreat
in Tyler, Texas. If you ever plan on being in the area, be sure to check out
Memory Lane Inn...it's an amazing Victorian home and modified for the weekend scrapbooker!
On the first day there we visited the local scrapbook store and I picked up
some of October Afternoon's Farm Girl papers and accessories to go with the
cutest 'jar' shaped chipboard mini album from Scrapbooker's Emporium!
(and don't miss the acrylic jar set, which will allow you to create several looks)
For the cover, I used the templates to build the lid and 'fabric' cover from various
patterned papers. I kept the design pretty simple since the cuteness of the chipboard girl
goes a long way!
The inner two pages...I love the idea of using the small journaling cards for
photo mats or jotting down a memory.
I used an old typewriter for the little sentiment flag and added a flair button to the middle.
And isn't that the happiest pig you've ever seen!?!
And the final two pages incorporating Farm Girl's chipboard, stickers, flair and Sticky Keys!
After adhering the finished pages to the chipboard, I outlined the edges in red/white baker's twine.
I can't wait to use this jar-shaped chipboard again...great for a small recipe book,
gardening tips or a banner for the kitchen :)
Enjoy your week and thanks for dropping by!
