Shabby, Baby!

Welcome, Friday blogging friends!

We have a couple of ladies at work who are

expecting little girls soon, so I crafted this card with them in mind :)

To begin, I've used the Diaper Card Die by

TOP DOG DIES

I die-cut the shape from white cardstock and then the front panel again to die-cut

the embossed pink cardstock by Core'dinations.

To the front I glued on two shabby blooms from May Arts Ribbon.

The woodgrain leaves and 'baby' were cut from a print in the "Hello Baby" Collection by

Simple Stories. I also hand-cut a small heart from one of the pocket cards

and added it between the flowers.

Once assembled, the card has an opening at the top so that you can add a tag,

gift card, etc. I also had a thought that it would look cute added to a small wreath

and used as a door-hanger as well!

I don't think that I ever shared...

This so sweet wooden owl "welcome baby" hanger that I made with

SIMPLE STORIES'

I found the wooden owl shape at Hobby Lobby; it's a substantial piece of wood, measuring

1/4" thick. It also comes with the cut-out pieces, which I also covered in paper.

For the eyes I used two scalloped canvas stickers and then punched two different

sizes of circles. Simple Stories also has enamel dots to go with the collections!

These made a nice accent to the eyes and centers of the flowers.

I punched and layered some flowers and then added a felt flowers to the center of each.

For a nice-finished look, I wrapped the edge of the wood with baker's twine.

Two eye-hooks to the top and I was able to thread through some muslin ribbon for hanging :)

Now, wouldn't this be precious as a welcome door hanging?
