A Patriotic Foiled Banner
The 4th of July is less than a week away!
Today I'm sharing a Patriotic Foiled Banner at
CHICKANIDDY CRAFTS
Chickaniddy Crafts carries both silver and gold foil papers;
they look amazing embossed too, which I've done for the banner!
See more of my Patriotic Foiled Banner and how I put it all
together on today's blog post post!

Pinterest inspired collection of projects
**Visit Beth's Blog each day this week for a complete viewing of projects**
My inspiration piece came from Rebecca Cooper's Blog:
St Patrick's Day Bunting
Now, since St. Patrick's Day has all ready passed for this year, I decided to turn
my banner into a good luck charm
For the base of the banner, I used a burlap paper by DCWV and a 3.5"W X 4.5"H banner die
by My Favorite Things. Next, using my personal cutting machine and Cambria font, I cut
the lettering from a cream cardstock, ran each through the 3" Sticker Maker and then attached
to the center of each burlap panel. Three of the panel were embellished with a trio
of premade flocked shamrocks that I had on hand, and some felt flowers by Jillibean Soup.
I cut two 3" strips of green ribbon for each panel. I adhered a High Tack Adhesive Dot
to one end of the ribbon and then folded in half to form a loop.
The loops were then attached to the back of each panel with another
High Tack Adhesive Dot. Just be sure to keep the loops wide enough to accomodate
the ribbon that will be strung through for hanging.
I wanted a nice finish to the banner, so I die-cut a backing for each panel from
cream cardstock. I applied adhesive to one side of the die-cuts using the 9" Creative Station
and attached to the back of the burlap paper.
Thanks for joining me today with this Pinterest-Inspired-Creation!

Halloween Hop
May Arts Ribbon

May Arts Halloween Hop!
Welcome to the May Arts Ribbonista Halloween Blog Hop!
I've been amazed by the projects so far...today will wrap things up, so if you
missed Monday through Thursday, visit the May Arts' blog...
**3 ROLLS OF HALLOWEEN RIBBON**
will be given away to a really-lucky commentor!
Today's hop includes the following designers (in order):
I wanted to do something a little different for my design today.
I love holiday bunting...I have a couple of different things for 4th of July and
Christmas, but I really wanted a piece that would go along with my Halloween decor.
From lengths of wired ribbon, I fashioned my own unique bunting!
This is how I went about making the bunting:
5- 18" lengths of 1.5" Solid/Pom Pom Edged Wired Ribbon
6 Yards of 1.5" Solid Checkered Wired Ribbon
Sewing machine and/or fabric glue
First, cut your pom pom ribbon into the 18" lengths.
Gently pull one of the wires from either side; leave the other wire in place.
Form each piece into a "U" shape as shown above
Next, decide how wide you would like for the piece to be.
Taking 3 yards (more/less if desired) of the check ribbon, begin gluing the loops to the
front of the check ribbon. Make sure that you leave about 24" of check ribbon at each end
so that it can be tied into a large bow.
Once all of the loops have been glued to the front of the check ribbon, attach
the second section (3 yards) on top by matching up the two pieces.
You may use fabric glue for this or machine stitch the two checkered ribbons together:
Add a small piece of wire to each side (behind the bow) so that it can be attached to
a railing or hung from a hanger.
The cute pom pom ribbon also comes in a black ribbon with orange pom poms...and
a huge variety of other colors, especially if you're thinking ahead to Christmas :)
May Arts Products Used:
KB38- 1.5" Solid Checkered Ribbon
XA38- 1.5" Solid/Pom Pom Wired Edged Ribbon

Thanks for hopping along with us at May Arts Ribbon!
I hope that you've found a couple of projects that you'd like to give a try...there are
several cute wreaths and countdown calendars that I'd like to try myself :)
Whatever it is...have fun!

Curtsey Boutique
Skip the Sprinkles...
...dress up your next celebratory cake with a cute handmade
banner-style bunting and topper!
You can find the sweetest treasures at
and I used several of the shop's pieces to create this awesome cake-decorating set
For my decoration, I had in mind to keep the banner neutral so that it could be reused.
To the die-cut decoration, you could create interchangeable sentiments.
To begin, you will need to gather a few products from the Curtsey Boutique: Five White Glitter
Pennant Embellishments, Red/White Baker’s Twine, White Glitter Vintage Birthday Cake
Embellishment and Petit Four Paper Bow. You will also need three bamboo skewers and a
1.2” -2” Glitter Alphabet Sticker (I used Pink Paislee's Portfolio Stickers)

Center and attach each letter sticker to the Glitter Pennant. Cut approximately ½ yard of the
red/white baker’s twine and lay out across a flat surface. Finding the center of the twine, attach
the middle pennant by applying a thin line of Beacon Fabri-Tac adhesive; twine may also be
attached to the back of pennant if desired.

For the next step, you may wish to use a piece of floral foam to stabilize the skewers while you
work. Tie the banner onto each bamboo skewer and adjust the hanging position as needed. To
dress up the tops of the skewers, two ¼” chenille pom poms can be glued to the top. Hint: Snip
out a small indention in the bottom of the pom poms so that the skewer fits nicely.

Any type of shape may be used to create the backdrop for the Glitter Vintage Birthday Cake
Embellishment! For this project, a 4” oval die cut was used and then layered with a smaller
oval topped with the embellishment. A bow of red/white baker’s twine adds interest to the
embellishment, as well as ties in with the pennant. Below the embellishment, the paper bow
was attached with a Glue Dot topped with a button tied with red/white baker’s twine.

Thesentiment was stamped and then trimmed out, but a computer font
(such as Typewriter orCourier) may be used instead.
You are now ready to top the cake! With a simple banner that says “Happy” this set could also
be used for other occasions such as: retirement, 4th of July, Easter, etc...just change up the
sentiment and you’re all set.
