Happy Friday, Happy Friday!

I have a project up today over at the 

Yesterday was my turn at the blog of 

I love the new papers that can be found under the “Garden” section 

of the Vintage Street Market Shop.  

I paired up the pretty print, Engraved Garden by K&CO with the

 Farmhouse-Sunday Dinner and Pretty Party-Planner by Crate Paper

…I think it coordinates beautifully!

 I also used an Olive Paper Bloom by Kaisercraft, as well as a couple of paper 

blooms from my stash.  I slipped in a scrap of paper behind two of the

 Metal Label Holders and used the Making Memories Alpha Stickers to play out my description. 

 The sweet vintage-inspired cut-out cherubs sheet can also be found HERE at VSM!

I used a couple of different sizes from the Lifestyle Crafts Lace Nesting Dies
 to give the layout more interest, texture…and plus I just think they’re fun!
 A couple of old buttons, chip letters and some twine from my stash completes the page.

 Halloween fun ALERT! 
 Let me say that I have had sooo much fun crafting with the assortment
of vintagey Halloween goodies from Vintage Street!
  I adore anything that replicates the Halloweens of yesteryear…
the Happy Haunting- Halloween Greetings from Graphic 45?
 Just perfect for making-up cool little wall-hangings or tree ornaments
 or gift tags…lots of possibilities!

For the base, I used a chipboard page from a Maya Road album,
 painted it black and then glittered.  I added the cut-out with foam tape
and then trimmed it with aqua tinsel.
 I found a few fabric flowers in my stash and added those to the bottom,
 along with a couple of vintage tickets hosting “Happy Halloween” using
Making Memories Alpha Stickers.  For the hanger, just string through a bit
of black twill and you’re set!

Greetings, weekend blog-goers!

I have a little Halloween mini to share with you today

that I created for 

I must say that I absolutely cannot wait until September 1st: 

 yes, I will have my Halloween decorations out and about. 

 And since I decorate early for Christmas, I get a good 2 and a half months

 out of my Fall decorations   I’m in love with all of the replicated vintage

 wares such as black cats, owls and jack ‘o lanterns

…black cats are at the top of my list though!

Vintage Street Market has a new assortment of beautiful 

Halloween-themed papers by Graphic 45, Echo Park and Making Memories.

  These papers were the base for the pages of the album that I created:

 I cut one of the little card motifs from the Happy Haunting paper

 and attached it to the front with foam dots. 

 I then outlined it with Aqua Twirly Twine.  For the embellishments 

I used the Sky Blue Paper Flowers (glittered in aqua), vintage buttons 

and a bit of yummy Black Crepe Paper Fringe. 

 Onto the rings (holding the pages together) I tied on a few different ribbons, 

Trick or Treat Seam Binding and Aqua Tinsel (which I adore).

  And don’t throw out those cute cupcake picks…save them for your paper projects

 as I did with the handsome bat peeking from beyond the fringe :)

I will point out all of the lovely things that you can purchase 

directly from Vintage Street Market!

 I hand-cut the little trick-or-treaters from one of the vintage Treat Bags  

offered by VSM and attached it to the paper with a glue pen.

 I also embellished with Vintage Tickets, a bit of aqua crepe that I cut into fringe.

 An old playing card and bingo piece seemed the

perfect match for this cute little black cat sticker from Martha Stewart.

 Jenni Bowlin has always carried a great selection of 

vintage inspired goods...these chipboard buttons are among some of 

my all-time favorites!

Again, I cut one of the cards from the Happy Haunting paper 

and used it as a journal spot.  A bit of glittery orange Ric Rac 

peeks out from under the aqua trim.

  I love little alpha stickers…they come in so handy! 

 Here I’ve used them on both pages, along with another cut-out from the vintage treat sack. 

 And there’s another cupcake pick (the ghost...handily applied with a glue dot). 

After completing the pages to my albums (most especially those with chipboard bases),

 I like to trim the edges with twine, in this case Black Twirly Twine. 

 I have found that the best way to attach the twine to the often 

thin chipboard edge is to use a Ballpoint-Tip Glue Pen.  

With all of that, we have a sweet mini to display a few memories from

Halloween 2012 in...I can't wait!

Happy Sunday and Happy Father's Day!

I'm up today at the

with not one, not two, but three projects!

First up is a layout; an 8×11 layout to be exact!  I found the perfect sketch from

 Page Maps and went from there.  I’ve used patterned papers, cut-out journal square

 and a punch-out tag from the Family Fun Paper Kit.  I also punched out a couple of

 hearts from one of the patterned papers as well!

To create the pleated accent, I cut 2″ x 12″ strip of paper, punched one edge with a

 decorative edge and folded at 1/2″ increments.  Glue the ends together and fan into a circle.

  Glue to the top of a 2″ circle and place something heavy on top until the glue has dried. 

 Vintage Street Market paper is the perfect weight for creating these fun embellishments.

My mom’s birthday was on the 11th of this month and of course she was expecting

 a handmade card hehehe…her expectation I could not let down!

 Once again you see that I’ve created a pleated embellishment.

This time I used the metallic paper from Dimestore Vogue.   To round the edges, 

I used a corner-rounder punch.  For the base of the card,

 I layered patterned papers from the Family Fun Paper Kit and hand-cut 

the vacuuming woman from one of the pages! 

 A little tag from the Party Games collection was attached to the side with a ribbon bow

 and paper flowers from my stash.  With my home computer and printer, I printed 

the sentiment onto the piece of paper as shown.  The inside of the card simply read

 “and have a happy birthday!” 

 She loved it!

 Finally…and I LOVE this…is my Patriotic-decked-out-BINGO-card-hanger!  

I have a small wired dress form on the side of my craft desk. 
On this I like to attach something fun that reflects the holiday or season…
it adds a little happiness to my clutter and makes me smile.

Isn’t it great?!?  Can you sense my delight and love LOL
 And I have to admit, Vintage Street Market BINGO Craft Cards are my favorite product.
 The versatility with the various sizes and colors are endless!  I layered one of the large red cards
 with a medium royal blue one.  From my stash, I glittered a chipboard star and layered
 it with a glittered scalloped circle, vintage milk cap and patriotic embellishments.
 The perimeter of the red card was lined out in Red Twirly Twine.

I'm so happy to add it to my collection of little hangers :)

So I actually got out of the house today.

(I'm the type that can spend days at home and never get bored!)

I went and visited with Michi at Scrapbooker's Emporium

in Texarkana and will be teaching my very first mini album class

there in August :)  I can't wait!  

Then I went to Wal-Mart...I hadn't been in close to two months; seriously.

I came across two friends who were shopping.  They both said the same

thing "I'm just trying to get my stuff and get outta here!"  I guess a lot of us share that

same disdain for stepping through the doors of Wal Mart LOL

But it's done.  Thank the Lord, it's done. 

Now on to scrappy stuff!

I had the best intentions of blogging my other projects that were 

featured here and there yesterday (and Wednesday!), but I just didn't get around to it.  

So, here we go...

I have been in love with this stamp ever since I laid eyes on it

and can't believe that I'm just now getting around to using it:

I used my watercolor pencils and Zig markers on this one.

And the best part?  I dug waaay back into my paper collection and brought out

some old Basic Grey...I love to use up the old stuff!

For this Wednesday's CARDS Challenge, I went with a sketch.

Once again, I am a self-proclaimed pretty-pitiful-sketch-artist...but hey, I try hehe!

I've really enjoyed working with the Echo Park This & That Collection

this month...both the masculine and feminine sets are drool-worthy.

I wanted to carry the 'cloud' motif up towards the top of the card, so I hand-cut 

these two clouds from cardstock and then embossed.

I made this one for my son, who'll be graduating two weeks from today :)

Both cards were quick and reinforced my love of using sketches!

A hint for June's Nook Kit?  It has to do with SIMPLE and FRESH...hmmmm?

I've said it before and I'll say it again...I.love.these.BINGO.cards

CANVAS {Adorable You} ALBUM
Whew, I finally got to sit down and finish this sweet 'lil album yesterday.
Pretty much every single thing came from The Paper Bakery March Kits!

 It's my time again at Vintage Street! My two projects were actually up 

yesterday, but with the business of the Blog Hop I thought I would wait until today to share :)

With Mother and Father's Days just around the corner I wanted to get a head start

and have a couple of projects completed.

For Mom: I created a mixed media canvas collage using some of the 

vintage inspired pieces from Dimestore Vogue.  If you love vintage sewing

motifs and classy ladies dressed in 1950's fashion, then you'll love this collection!

I have more photos and instructions up at VSM Blog.

For Dad: My daddy loves getting handmade cards, so I created this with him in 

mind :)  Most everything on the card came from Vintage Street!.  The Family Fun Paper Kit

is loaded with fun vintage and retro prints.  VSM also carries the coolest Tinted Tape...

the Numbers Tinted Tape is my absolute FAV...so many possibilities!

I'll be back with Vintage Street on May 17th and one of my projects

will have a lot to do with these:

Hmmm, I'm thinkin' a mini album..... :)  Yes, I think I will!

We finally made it... 

I haven't reminded my kids of it yet...I'm waiting until I go and put 

something green on LOL

I'm working tonight, so I thought I'd stop by the bakery and get 

some sweet green treats to share with my co-workers...it'll be Saturday night after-all 

and we need some reason to celebrate since we're working (that's how we see it anyway)

It's my day to share at Vintage Street!

This month I did a couple of cards with two totally different looks

...I'm showing my bright side and my softer, more shabby side.

First, nothing says Happy Birthday like a big ‘ole bright card! 

 I adore the nostalgic motifs of the Party Games Collection…it harkens me back to a time when pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey was the thing to do at parties.

I used the cute tag and hand-cut the banner from the Party Games Collection.  I machine stitched the Red Bingo Card onto a piece of Maggie Jane Family Fun paper.  I attached the ‘banner’ to the card front with foam dots, then strung a piece of Red Twirly Twine across the top.  Three dotted buttons give it just the right amount of dimension and personality. 

Next up...I love all things vintage Easter…or as I’ve had to settle for: replica vintage Easter!  I have several glittered yellow chicks sitting around the house and even an old bunny cake mold on display in my kitchen.  When I spotted these printable ‘post card’ prints at Etsy, I just had to have them!  I thought that they’d be so cute paired up with the lovelies from Vintage Street Market

 After cutting out the selected ‘postcard’, I wrapped a piece of Linen Tinted Tape around the edges (as if the postcard had been removed from an old scrapbook and the tape dog-eared).  I then layered it with a scrap piece of scrapbook paper, a light blue Bingo Card, the top part of a Dimestore Vogue Tag and a strip of yellow ruffled crepe from the Party Games Collection.  Next, I added dots of Rose German Glass Glitter to the patterned paper.  I embellished the front of the ‘postcard’ with pearls, paper flowers and leaves (from my stash) and a Pink Twirly Twine bow.  I also added a border of Pink Twirly Twine around the perimeter of the card. I have it displayed in my kitchen hutch...it looks so cute nestled among my other vintage goodies.

Whew, I'm finally getting to blog a couple of things that I had intended to share yesterday...house cleaning got in the way; can you believe that?

For Totally Teriffic Thursday, I used one of the new Itty Bitty stamps, Friendship Rainbow.

I created this Valentine treat bag using a standard white gift bag and embellishing with the sweet black/cream dot from the back of the “Meghan Kay” paper (Family Fun). I handcut the lady in blue from the Dimestore Vogue paper sheet and attached her to the front of a red heart-shaped doily using foam dots. On the inset of the doily, I cut a small heart from the Dimestore Vogue paper sheet and adhered. I also added a running stitch of black/white baker’s twine inside the perimeter of the heart and tied it into a bow. Four shiny blue hearts were punched from the Fancy Foil Sheet, machine stitched down the center and then added to the bag front. To finish off, I added a strip of the blue gingham paper, topped with a large black ric-rac and vintage red buttons to the bottom of the design. A small red heart was added to the dress for a pop of color. I printed out the words “I would be blue without you, Valentine, so please be mine” onto cardstock, trimmed to size and then attached. That’s it! My hubby loves Ghiradelli chocolates, so I tucked in a couple of packages of candies and added a little tissue paper before gifting.
