Bella's Friday Sketch

Time for the semi-monthly "Friday Sketch" with Bella Blvd!

This card was inspired by the blooms on this month's sketch.
I  just trimmed my design to two flowers instead of three.
For the stems, I adhered a strip of Pickle Juice Dot Designer Tape to a piece of cardstock
and then cut into thin pieces. The blooms were a layer of die cuts from a mix of patterned
papers and a few stickers. A happy bee adds a little extra whimsy.
And what is a flower without a bee!

Supplies: Play Date: Captions; Trick or Treat: Spooky Town; Snapshots: Daily Details,
Rise & Shine, Pajama Day, Alpha+Bits; Designer Tape: 12 mm Combo

I replaced the flowers with a trio of hand-cut houses from the City Sidewalks paper!
After stitching a 'hill' onto a blue background, I added the houses with foam adhesive.
Above one of the chimneys I hand-stitched a plume of smoke with white thread and small needle.
I kept with the design of the sketch by adding a zig-zag border sticker and sentiment.

 Supplies: Christmas Countdown: City Sidewalks, O Tannebaum, Captions, Alpha+Bits;

Friday Sketch

I love this sketch by Becky Fleck, so I was quite happy when it
was our assignment for this past Friday's card project at Bella Blvd!

I stuck with the original foundation of this sketch by adding the two panels with a border
across the center. Next, I chose the focal point/sentiment and built around it in a way to keep
with the general idea of the sketch. I wanted to add a little color to the center of the scalloped
die cut so that I would have a nice backdrop for the white fluffy cloud.

 Supplies:Play Date: Daily Details, Park Play, Catching Bugs, Today is Beautiful, Alpha+Bits;
Trick or Treat: Paper Pieces; Flags: All American Flag Icons

Lots of cute takes on this sketch over at the Bella Blog...check it out!

Page Mapped

**I have two sketch posts up today...please scroll on down to see the other :)**

It's always great fun to do a layout with an original Becky Fleck sketch!
January's Page Maps features a few of the Simple Stories Design Team members
and I just happen to be one of them who got to play along.

The 12x12 Sketch

And my layout using the brand new Vintage Bliss

I know I've said it before, but I flat-out L-O-V-E this whimsical collection!
If you trend towards fun, bright and girly, then this is a must-have :)

See all of the fabulous January Page Maps right here
If you're not familiar with the site, you can also download the entire month's worth
(and previous months) of layout and card sketches via PDF formant, which makes it
super easy for viewing.  I have a large 3-ring binder that I keep all of my Page Maps in!
A wonderful tool...and it's FREE :)
Thanks so much for dropping in today...enjoy the sketches!

Imaginisce + Page Maps= FUN

As I've briefly mentioned before, a few of us from the
Imaginisce Design Team
were paired up with the talented Becky Fleck of
and the March Page Maps.
As a long-time fan of Beckys, I was thrilled to be the first to scrap this Double 8.5x11 sketch:

I used the happy BIRTHDAY BASH papers and Sticker Stackers by Imaginisce (love this!)
For the sweet banner, I simply cut the wording from one of the papers (which also has the look of a banner, so it's easy to follow).  The balloons were also hand-cut from one of the papers :)
Check out Becky's blog...she is having a contest using one of her sketches and
Imaginisce is sponsoring the prize...
