Curious About Basically Bare?

Two of the hottest places in the
papercrafting world are meeting up in a duo
AUTHENTIQUE PAPER
&
BASICALLY BARE

Now, you won't be hopping from my blog to another, instead
head on over to the Authentique Blog to see the line-up for the day :)

With back-to-school in mind, I wanted to create
a couple of special teacher gifts.
For the first project,
 CURIOUS OWL NOTEBOOK,
I used portions of the Basically Bare Album.
On the front, clear cover I hand-stitched a few buttons
to the bottom, outlining the shape.
I also machine stitched around the perimeter
so that the edge would be defined.

For the inner cover, I layered the cardboard sheet and felt scalloped sheet
together and then embellished with an owl dressed in
Curiosity patterned papers and stickers.

Next, I took 8.5 x 11 copy paper and trimmed the
sheets down to a 5.5"W X 5.25"H; reserve the scraps.
Using the 'index-tabbed' chipboard page as a guide,
line up the papers with the top and punch holes.
Insert rings that come with the album and tie on colorful ribbons.

I had one remaining piece of the album left: a canvas sheet.
I just had to use it!

CURIOUS TEACHER NOTE HOLDER
Take the scrap pieces of copy paper and cut in half
 so that they measure 3.25"H X 5.5"W.
Fold the canvas sheet around the paper to form a pocket;
machine stitch around the edges or glue in place.
Decorate the front as desired and then string
through a length of ribbon and tie at the top to create a useful hanger.
You may also attach a magnet to the back so that it may be hung in that fashion.

Supplies:

Monday Blog Hop & Give-A-Way

Hello, Monday Crafters!
It's time for the latest installment of the
EAD Monday Blog Hop & Give-A-Way
You should be here from Ms. Rose's Blog

Check out the EAD Designs Blog first (click photo above)
and take a gander at what is up for grabs this week.

My mom and dad dropped by Friday afternoon as I had just
finished up with this week's project for EAD.
As I've previously stated before, my dad is my biggest fan...he is the glowing father
and quite literally thinks I'm a genius (he-he-he) and of course I let him 'go-on'
whilst trying to tamp down his accolades just a bit (I'm not one to be bragged on...I do not like the attention!)
Of course they both crooned over the entire concept of
designing with vinyl and how cute the EAD Designs are :)
Emily, you have some new fans out there LOL
Here is a peek at the suh-weet binder that I created to hold my Design Team stuff in:

I used the Silly Owls Rub-Ons (which ship FREE from EAD!)

and applied them to the front cover of a standard 3-ring binder.
Next, I cut a piece of scrapbook paper to size and layered it with an inset of coordinating
paper that I printed onto (from my home computer).
Oh, all of the wonderful possibilities that I could think of with
these fab-o Rub-Ons!
Hope you will give this idea a try...you will love the outcome :)
Now...
Enjoy the hop!

Jingle Belles Rock

Jingle Belles, Jingle Belles, Jingle Belles Rock all year long!
I love Christmas and I love the concept of the Jingle Belles Rock blog.  It's a place where they create Christmas and Holiday cards year 'round!

EAD Designs is sponsoring the STUCK ON YOU Challenge
that begins today and runs through the 27th.
With this challenge you will want to create a card using stickers or rubons...that's it!
Just link your finished project up and you'll be in the running for a $25 Gift Card, courtesy of EAD :)

Here is the card that I made

using the cute Christmas Owl from the Holiday Owl Stickerz Sheet along with some scrap papers from October Afternoon, buttons and rhinestones.  This card is actually 2-in-1 as the owl motif can be removed and used as an ornament or package tag!

Holiday Owls
Whoooo doesn't love some owls?  Especially owls as cute as these!  EAD has the cutest designs ever put on vinyl.

See you all in a bit!
Have a happy weekend
