Princess-worthy

If you're any kind of a pack rat like me, then you
quite possibly could have one or two of those cute little
wooden boxes that paper flowers or embellishments come in...
or a cigar or paper mache box would also work.

I've used mine to create an Elegant embellished box befitting any princess!
The new Classique: Elegant Collection by Authentique Paper
is reminiscent of  Tiffany Co. blue and Audrey Hepburn :)

I painted the base of the box with a black acrylic paint to begin. If you don't want to fuss
with cutting the paper around the clasp, then leaving that area painted is a good way to go :)

I took a Maya Road chipboard 'girl' and covered her with one of the 6X6 papers.
Across her front, I attached a sash of blue vintagey trim that I further embellished with some
pearl/rhinestone picks that I found in the bridal section of Hobby Lobby.
Next, I painted a chipboard crown from Leaky Shed Studio and glued to the top of the girl.
I bent the legs of the chipboard girl, applied high tack glue to the bottom and then
was able to attach the girl to the glass inset of the lid.

I edged around the glass opening with some braided upholstery trim. For the flowers,
I used a die by My Favorite Things and two patterns from the 6X6 Elegant Paper.
Lastly, I added a border of black/white dot ribbon to the bottom of the box and used the
same ribbon as an accent bow for the front.  This would also make a cute table
decoration for a bridal shower orother fun girlie event!
What girl wouldn't love a 'Tiffany' themed party!

An Elegant Notebook

Authentique and Top Dog Dies are teaming up over the next week
to bring you tons of inspiration using Authentique Paper and Top Dog Dies products!

For my project, I've used Top Dog Dies' A2 Card #1 Die to create
a rather handy and elegant notebook.

Notebooks make great little gifts to have on hand...and they're so easy
and quick to put together.  Here's a look at the die that I've used:

I started by cutting the shape from a mat board, although any type of heavy
chipboard would work just fine.  Next, cut two different patterned papers from the
Classique: Elegant Collection using the same die.
Cut all pieces along the score lines so that you have three different sections for the
mat board and patterned papers. Set aside.

First we will assemble the bottom flap of the notebook.
Have the rectangular base and one rounded piece of mat board on hand.
For the bottom flap: cut a strip of paper the same width as the mat board and at least 1" high.
Score at the 1/4" and 3/4" marks and fold as shown above.  Adhere the scored flaps
to the base of the mat board and the bottom flap of the matboard.

Next, adhere the die-cut papers to the mat board pieces.
I found that using my Xyron Creative Station worked perfectly for this.
Punch holes along the top pieces (as shown above) using a Cinch or Bind-It-All.
Cut notebook paper or copy paper to fit the inside of the notebook; punch matching holes
at the top of the papers. Bind together with a metal or plastic comb.

With the pieces assembled, we now have a bound notebook!

For the front, I used Top Dog Dies' Heart Doily Dies and the Classique: Elegant papers.
One of the Components' stickers sits in the middle, followed by flowers from Petaloo.

Anchored, Elegant and Sweet

It has been a fun-filled week of projects at
AUTHENTIQUE PAPER
as we've teamed up with  Sweet Stamp Shop!
I've paired a couple of their stamps with the new
Anchored & Classique: Elegant Collections to create these cards

First up, I have a rather masculine style
I cut a portion of the Anchored Enhancement paper to use as the backdrop for my
initial stamping.  From the "Anatomy of Love" Stamps,I used the cluster of rounded
squares and stamped them haphazardly across the paper with a black Staz On ink.

Next, I stamped the image onto several designs found in the Anchored 6X6 Paper Bundle.
I hand-cut the small squares and then adhered them over the matching stamped
images on the paper.  For extra dimension, I hand stitched a few X's over the
largest squares with a stormy blue thread.

For this next card, I combined two stamp sets
I used the Waterlily stamp and sentiment and then the leaves found in the
"What's For Dinner" Set.  I used the neutral side of the Elegant Foundations 2 paper
and stamped the lily image in both VersaMagic Midnight Black  and Sea Breeze
I hand-cut the images out and then arranged them over the  Elegant Journal Card.

The leaves were stamped with a VersaMagic Bamboo ink and then adhered.
I also used the Midnight Black ink to add color to the wooden butterfly.
Sweet Stamp Shop stamps give you a nice, clean image with a variety of ink types.
