Paper Bakery + Elle's Studio Team Up
The March Paper Bakery Kit was chocked full of Elle's Studio goodness.
This week the two are teaming up for a grand tour of inspiration!
Here's a little something that I shared on the blog today...I had the most fun with this kit
and all of the charming tags and papers by Elle's Studio. And I've been holding on
to hope of getting my hands on the NEW designer straws by Queen & Co.
I'm gonna say it... OH MMM GEE!
CREATE A PINWHEEL TUTORIAL
Who doesn't loveee a pinwheel? They're cute tucked into a gift sack, as a centerpiece,
added to a door wreath (ooo I'm thinking one of those baby wreaths that hang on hospital doors!!)
and so-on-and-so-on! Endless ideas! And the best part is that they're so easy to put together.
Fill an empty jar or bottle with your best friend’s favorite candy, then add a handmade pinwheel
and a couple of banners to dress it up! For the pinwheel, you will need a 6×6 sheet of double-sided patterned paper (I used Elle’s Day-to-Day paper). Score on the diagonal as shown below:
Next, cut along the score lines about 3/4 of the way up as shown below:
Punch a 1/8″ hole into the lower right edge of each flap and through the center of the paper.
Insert a brad through all four holes and then through the center as shown below:
Now it’s time to add the straw to the back and embellish! Pierce a hole through the top
of the straw and insert the brad through and close.
I also cut two of the other banners and just glued them to the front of the straws.
Now wouldn't this just brighten someone's day!?!
That's all for my Paper Bakery Tutorial, but please stop by the blog to see all of the
unique projects shared there. PLUS, there's a fabulous giveaway!

I Am Toto
Hello, friends! I'm up at the Paper Bakery Kits today with
a sweet (if I do say-so myself) layout that I put together using one of the photos from my
daughter’s last dance recital; as the title implies, she was TOTO :) Yes, Dorothy’s Toto
I started out with a light aqua cardstock and went to fun-town with all of the bright colors and textures
found in the February Paper Bakery Scrapbook Kit! After drawing out my circle with a template,
I attached strips of the yellow dot washi tape to mimic rays of sunshine.
And what better paper to use for a rainbow than the multi-colored striped paper by My Mind’s Eye.
I used some green letter stickers from my stash to complete the title and layered it with the paper doily, colorful die-cut and flair buttons. I love the added texture AND hint of sparkle brought by the sequins
(yep, they’re in the kit too!) I just attached them to the die-cut with brads.
The white alpha stickers by Jillibean Soup made the perfect little sub-title around the sun.
I used my brand new dies by My Favorite Things (mftstamps.com) to whip up some clouds from the patterned paper. With the three pieces of flair, I created a visual triangle that helps to frame my photo and make it the focal point. I was hooked on flair, as they’re all over my creations this month :)

Sibling Lovalry
I am blessed to have three kiddos who are genuinely supportive of each other.
With two boys who are very competitive in sports, video games and academics, they have never held a rivalry amongst themselves. They share in each other’s joy and disappointments…
no gigging or nah-nah-boo-boo…it’s nice! So, as a tribute to my (generally) sweet kids…

January Paper Bakery Kit Club: Scrapbooking Kit
I set out to keep things fun and whimsical. I followed along the natural ‘quilt’ like pattern of the
Ruby Rockets paper and stitched them into place. Next, I hand-cut different sized hearts from the vintage ticket and patterned paper. To the one heart I cut two small slits in the center and threaded through the arrow from the January Svg kit!
Using the lines on the vintage ticket, I added a little journaling to it. The other hearts served as a nice backdrop for the woodgrain letter stickers (I LOVE these things…a girl can never have too many alpha stickers!) A few flecks of Color Shine spritz (Heidi Swapp Primrose) and small adhesive pearls were sprinkled around the page to help highlight the visual triangle.
It’s nice to have an ‘anchor’ at the bottom or top of your page, especially when the majority of your design is clustered towards the center. I’ve always felt it helps to direct the eye and grounds the page.
For this layout, I used a doily border punch by Martha Stewart, followed by a repeat pattern of the ‘quilt’ strips.
I just love this layout and as I journaled…”I just love these people! They make my heart happy”
