Card Corner

Card Corner!
Happy Wednesday!
I've spent 1/4 of this day thinking that it was Tuesday...
that's what a Monday holiday will do to you :)
I'm sharing a couple of cards that I made for
Monthly Challenge and this week's Card Corner.
For the Card Corner Challenge we were asked to use Roly Rosies
in some form or fashion...here's what I came up with:
Harkening back to the Owl Card that I made a few months ago,
I decided to once again use Roly Rosies in an unconventional way and
fashion them as the eyes for my jack 'o lantern!
I started with a 4" circle and hand-cut leaves
(I free-handed these, but svg files or punches could be used instead).
For the "stem", I cut a small portion from one of the Neutral Roly Rosies.
After rolling and securing the medium-sized Roly Rosies (black), I punched a small
circle that I then embellished with an even smaller glittered circle for the eyes.
Adding adhesive from the POGO Dispenser is an easy way to adhere
the circle to the center of each bloom. Lastly, I cut a some-what shewed
rectangle to create the nose.
Supply List: Makin' Waves: Surf's Up 12x12 Paper, Fish 12x12 Paper;
Monster Mash: Fall Medley 12x12 Paper, Pick of the Patch 12x12 Paper and
Magic Words 5 x 12 Sticker Stacker; Roly Rosies - Neutrals;
Tools: Hybrid Petal Roller, POGO Adhesive Dispenser and Colored Foam Tape - White
Imaginisce September Monthly Challenge
participants are asked to create a card or layout using:
2 photos, a chevron pattern/design, 2 patterned papers and 2 embellishments.
Here's my take on the challenge...a card for my dad's birthday!
I downloaded a couple of golf-related photos from the internet and
used the HELLO CUPCAKE Collection to complete the card.
If you'd like to participate in the challenge and have a chance at winning
the newest MONSTER MASH Collection, just go -->here<--
And since we're on the topic of challenges!

Christmas Cheer
Bringing some
CHRISTMAS CHEER
on this, the first day of August 2012!
My birthday is in 18 days and is usually right around
the time that school starts...and so begins the busy-time-of-year!
Labor Day, football games, after-school practices, Halloween,
Octoberfest, Election Day, Thanksgiving, Columbus Day...so many
in-between days while we wait for the Christmas Season to begin.
I said all of that to say this: Christmas will be here before we know it LOL
Now, don't panic...you still have 145 days :)
But what better way to spend some of those in-between days
than crafting up some fun and cool Holiday crafts?
The Monthly Challenge is up at the
IMAGINISCE BLOG
IMAGINISCE BLOG
and it's really pretty super easy (see below)
Don't you love pilfering through the $1 bins?
I found this darling red splattered tin at Target a couple of years
ago and knew it would be even cuter dressed up!
The large Santa die-cut, the three patterned papers (for the flowers),
the canvas sticker and the chipboard sticker are all from the new
CHRISTMAS CHEER COLLECTION
I used three different sizes of the I-Top Punches to create the
layered flowers that I made to decorate the rim of the tin.
(16mm, 24mm and 32mm)
In attaching the flowers to the tin, I used the very handy-dandy
I-Bond Hot Glue Tool by Imaginisce...perfect for these types of crafts!
Now, if you would like to play along and submit a project
to the August Imaginisce Monthly Challenge, just do the following:
Create a layout, card or other project using the Inspiration below and ....
- 3 different Imaginisce patterned papers
- 2 sticker-type Imaginisce embellishments
- use an Imaginisce tool on your project
- must use at least 75% Imaginisce product on your entry
- upload submission using the link tool at the bottom of the post HERE
- deadline is August 25th, 2012
The PRIZE:
One lucky winner will be chosen from the entries submitted to win a

sun
tutorial
To create the bookmark you will need a 6x6 piece of heavy paper
1- Score paper at 3" mark, turn and score again at the 3" mark
2- Turn your paper and score from corner to corner (will look like scoring a triangle)
I have marked the scored lines in orange so that you can see them:
3- Fold the paper to create the triangle
4-Take one of the tips of the triangle, crease and fold it down as shown
5- Next, bring the two side points up and fold; you will now have a square
6- Fold the sides in half to give a crease...it should now look like this:
7- Lastly, take those points and now fold them back over and into the
pocket of the bookmark
That's it! No glue required, except for adding those fun embellishment with.
These would make sweet back-to-school gifts for teachers or kids.
Christmas will be here before we know it, so think stocking stuffer!
Hope you've enjoyed the tutorial...the photos aren't the best as I took them in
early morning. If you have any questions, please leave a comment with your email
address (or email me from the side contact list) and I'll get back to you :)
Thanks much and a Happy 4th!
