Special Guests

Design Team:

If you get lost along the way, you can always pop back to the
Newton's Nook Designs blog for the whole blog hop list!

I did a really quick and simple card for this anniversary hop:
I chose the small flower from the Beach Party Stamp Set and
stamped it in a random pattern with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
I colored in the flowers with Le Plume alcohol markers
and blending pen.

Next, I embossed the cardstock with a polka dot folder and then layered it
on top of a pre-embossed cardstock from Core'dinations.
The sentiment is from Newton's Daydream Stamp Set.

**Your next stop on the hop is  JESS MOYER's BLOG**
Enjoy and good luck on winning a fabulous prize!

Shabby, Baby!

Welcome, Friday blogging friends!
We have a couple of ladies at work who are
expecting little girls soon, so I crafted this card with them in mind :)
To begin, I've used the Diaper Card Die by
TOP DOG DIES

I die-cut the shape from white cardstock and then the front panel again to die-cut
the embossed pink cardstock by Core'dinations
To the front I glued on two shabby blooms from May Arts Ribbon.

The woodgrain leaves and 'baby' were cut from a print in the "Hello Baby" Collection by
Simple Stories.  I also hand-cut a small heart from one of the pocket cards
and added it between the flowers.
Once assembled, the card has an opening at the top so that you can add a tag,
gift card, etc.  I also had a thought that it would look cute added to a small wreath
and used as a door-hanger as well!

Enjoy a wonderful weekend!

A Christmas Spectacular

Authentique Paper is teaming up Core'dinations this week to
bring you tons of inspiration using Authentique Paper & Core'dinations products!

I must say that I always enjoy working with Core'dinations' products!
Not only do they coordinate well with any Authentique collection, the quality and ability to sand, tear
and distress makes it a top-notch cardstock to reach for.

For my layout today, I've pulled two of the Core'dinations Neutral 6 X 6 sheets and trimmed
them down to 4.25" X 5.5"...why this size?  I was thinking of cascading snowflakes embossed
onto the cardstock and of course, my embossing folder just happened to be this size.
Next, I cut matching pieces from the "Classic" Joyous paper and adhered them all onto a
9.5" X 12" piece of black Core'dinations cardstock that was mounted onto a single
 sheet of 12 X 12 Confection paper.

After some machine-stitching to the panels of paper, I'm ready to being layering!
I went with my trusty doily dies and cut out three different shapes from the black cardstock
found in the Neutral 6 X 6 pack.  I added a smaller disc of patterned paper to the center of each
(and I used the 6 X 6 paper bundle for this).  I determined placement of the doilies,
along with my photos and set them in place.

Finally, the embellishments!  I added some pretty Petaloo poinsettias, gold buttons and a few
punch-out pieces from the Joyous Collection

I really love the homespun feel of this design and how the juxtaposed panels of snowflakes truly give motion to the page.  If you decide to use a Core'dinations cardstock with a core, you could easily transform the look of your embossed design by lightly sanding over the raised areas!

Blog Hoppin' Takes Core'dination

hahahaha, how do you love my title!?!
I actually won 1st place in UIL Divisional "Headline" writing in High School
ah ha...yep, I'm too smart for my own good (tic)
But pardon my digression...
It's time for the
Imaginisce + Core'dinations Blog Hop Week
The hop started yesterday, so be sure to hop on over and leave comments on both manu's blogs to be in the running for some terrific prizes :)

I'll be honest and say that I haven't worked with Core'dinations Cardstocks before this.  The weight and texture alone is reason enough to give it a try...couple that with the beautiful things that you can do with Core and you'll be hooked!  I didn't stray too much into the diversity of the product, so check out what the rest of the Imaginisce Design Team came up with!

For my first project, I created this Spring wall hanging...cute, eh?
For the base I used a Core'dinations cardstock and lightly sanded around the edges.
I then added accents from the Imaginisce Hippity Hop Collection, as well as fabric covered I Top brads...have you I Topped yet?  If you haven't, then you should put it into your papercrafting bucket list!

Okay, my middle son loathes this layout...just loathes it.  It was taken last year and yes he has grown several inches and lost several pounds
(disclaimer: before I could post this layout I had to agree to his terms in stating the above *wink*)
Now, back to business...
I used Core'dinations for the base page, then took the beautiful green Core and trimmed them into trees.  I embossed them and lightly sanded the little dots.  I love the whimsy that it adds to the layout :)  I used a white cardstock with a yellow core and cut them into clouds and then sanded.
The cute patterned papers are from the Imaginisce Happy Camper Collection.
Imaginisce + Core'dinations= A Sweet Combination!

Happy Creating!
