Dot & Whimsy

To a plain white paper sack, I've attached dots of washi tape and glitter.  

At Scrapbook Adhesives, this is what we call "wearing your adheisve on the outside"

Glittered and embellished bags can be expensive, so this is a fantastic

alternative...especially if you're needing to make several!

For the closure, I decorated a large wooden clothespin (from Target Dollar Spot)

with paper scraps and die-cuts.  If you're looking for a matching design for your 

treat bags think about using stamps and dies to make your own die-cuts!

For my 'ribbon cutting' project I went with a simply simple treat bag for Halloween

From Michael's craft store I purchased this inexpensive tote bag and felt bat...
 together it was less than $5.  I kept the design basic by adding lengths
of Black/White Swiss Dot ribbon to the sides and then adding a row of the
puffy Bat Trim to just the bottom.  Two large buttons at the top finished the look.

After gluing the bat in place, I outlined the shape with a fabric glue and
Black/White Baker's Twine.  I gave him pom pom eyes and a pom pom nose...I
love how adding these pieces made him even more whimsical!
A pretty Orange/White Oval bow, a candy corn button by Dress-It Up
and my "Batty Bat Bag" is complete!

Let me just say this first...this treat bag looks so much better in
person...I could not, for the life of me, get it to photograph the way I
wanted it to.  I fought the glare and the shadows LOL
You can get a pack of the popular cone shaped clear bags from
Hobby Lobby or other craft/food shops...they're very inexpensive.
Also, keep in mind that you can order the vinyl Rub-Ons
**IN ANY COLOR**

Sweet Nothings Rub-Ons
As shown, mine are a dark brown, so if you have a specific treat that you
would like to fill your bags with, just keep in mind the color and how well it will show up.
I placed a white background behind the Rub-Ons (from the inside of the bag)
so you can see it better.  Rub-Ons work beautifully on a wide variety of surfaces.
