Special Delivery Welcome Signage

Welcoming a little one to the world? Today I'm sharing a "Special Delivery" sign that can be hung on mom's hospital door and then in baby's room!

For this particular sign, I used a 12X15 premade wooden palette sign; you could also use a heavy sheet of chipboard or a solid wood piece.

Because the slats on the palette were horizontal, I cut strips of paper in the same fashion.  I trimmed each strip to slighter smaller than each slat so that some of the wood would show through.

From The Dollar Tree I found this mini chalkboard that measures 6X7.5".  After adding pom trim around the backside of the board, I adhered it to the center of the palette using foam adhesive tape.

I used borders strips from the collection's sticker sheet and Skinny alphabet stickers to add the information to the board.

To the top of the chalkboard I attached a bow and a small cluster of die-cuts and Doodle Pops!

I pulled several different animal die-cuts and created a little parade at the bottom!  Next, I layered on the smaller star and heart die-cuts, stickers and Doodle Pop pieces with foam adhesive.

I finished the sign off with a few Sprinkles and a button for the middle of the bow!
I hope you enjoyed this idea for putting together a quick welcome sign and will give it a try if needed :)

Bundle of Joy Brag Book Gift Set

New moms or grandmas would love to receive a handmade
brag book featuring the new "Bundle of Joy" Collection by

Along with the brag book, I also stamped, colored and embellished little accent pieces with the "Nursery Friends" and "Bundle of Joy" Doodle Stamps & Cuts.

After die-cutting each piece, I layered on a smaller die-cut piece (mini hearts, stars, flowers, etc.) using a small piece of foam.  Lastly, I used various sizes and colors of Mini Jewels to accent!
I also die-cut a matching shape from white cardstock and then glued to the backs of each piece.  This allowed me to hide the bleed-through of the Copic Markers.

I purchased a plain 4X6 photo album from The Dollar Tree and cut swatches of patterned papers to place inside of each sleeve. The pages were decorated on the outside of the sleeve with die-cuts, stickers, sprinkles, etc.

When attached the journal cards and large die-cuts to the front of the plastic sleeve, I made a score line so that the pieces can easily fold back to display the photo.

On the cover, I machine-stitched a journal card and border stickers to the paper before inserting it inside of the sleeve.  The outside of the cover was embellished with a sticker added with foam, sprinkles and a small Doodle Pop flower!

Be sure to add additional Sprinkles, die-cuts and stickers to the gift...mom or grandma will be in love!

Thanks for joining us today!

A New Team

Hey, y'all!

and winners have been sent their packages, I wanted to
announce some exciting news that I've been holding off sharing...

I'm incredibly excited to announce that I have been invited back
to design cute stuff with Doodlebug Design for 2019!
These ladies are some of the most talented in the industry and
I am very honored to be counted amongst them :)

We'll start sharing projects with the two newest collections this week!

Aren't these just delightful!?! See all of the components from
each collection on the Doodlebug Blog :)  And if you're a Doodlebug
collector, you'll find that you can mix'n match these from other lines...peep
the adorable collector pins too while you're over at the blog!

Until next time, keep on craftin'!
XOXOX

Doodlebug Life

Doodlebug Design's albums are amazing.
They are well-constructed, well-designed and beautiful to boot!
Now Doodlebug offers cool 4x6 Simply Put cards with their collections,
so they're perfect for album inserts, card fronts or on full-sized layouts.
For the next couple of weeks, the design team will be sharing their ideas of how to
create a Project Life style album with all of the cute Doodlebug papers and accessories.
I started mine with a few photos from our recent Spring Break cruise.

For the full 8x8 page protectors I used 8x8 cardstock and then decorated with
6x6 patterned paper from the paper pads!  I added the "Smile" bubble sticker to the outside
of the page protector...I love the way it looks :)

See how cute the 4x6 card looks above the photo...I just added a sticker to it and slipped it
into the page protector.  For the side-strip, I cut down a piece of the "Take Note" paper and
typed a little journaling onto it with an old manual typewriter. A happy Doodle Pop sunny sticker
was added to the outside of the page protector.

You can use the reverse side of the 4x6 card for the following page, or tuck in a new design.

There are loads of other ideas at the Doodlebug Design's Blog...come and see :)
Hope you have a wonderful new week!

She's Eleven

I'm getting this Monday started off with a fun & bright layout...
it's cloudy here and it's Monday...I need fun & bright!
DOODLEBUG DESIGN & KIWI LANE DESIGNS
teamed up this past week and today to bring all sorts of projects using the
two companies' products.  I received the "Celebrate Accessories" Templates from Kiwi Lane, so
I decided to use Doodlebug's "Birthday Girl" Collection and photos from my daughter's 11th birthday.

For the base paper I selected Doodlebug's Limeade Sugar Coated Cardstock...a little shimmer
goes perfectly with such a celebratory page :)  Next, I made a smaller inset from a sheet of Swimming Pool Petite Print Cardstock.  I cut along the banner/cloud border (Cake & Ice Cream Collection) to create two different swagged pieces.

I selected the paper for the balloons and then traced using the Kiwi Lane template.
Using a fine-tip glue pen, draw a wavy line onto the paper...this is a wonderful way to make sure
the Doodle Twine stays in place, as I did for the balloon's string.
The bottom scallop and title banner are also templates from Kiwi Lane.
I made this layout while away at a crop, so the templates came in extra-handy!

Come by and see many more ideas on the Doodlebug Design Blog.
Not sure what Kiwi Lane is all about?  They have a very informative video on their website that
gives detailed instructions on how to go-about using their tracing system!

Stars 'N Stripes Diorama

More red, white and blue today with Doodlebug Designs'
STARS & STRIPES COLLECTION

I feel in love with the little red airplanes...they're so cute!
This collection includes pinwheels that you can make in a snap.
I found this inexpensive star box (also came with a lid) at Hobby Lobby...I just knew it would
make the cutest diorama when decorated with Stars & Stripes!

Three wooden dowels were wrapped in Bumblebee Washi Tape and then adored with Mini Pinwheels.
To hide the chipboard edges and uneven papers, I glued on a trim of Ladybug Doodle Twine.
I traced the bottom of the box and trimmed down the excessive until it fit nicely inside the box.
To cover the insides and sides, I cut strips of the papers and overlapped the areas so that the edges
would blend.  For the diorama piece, I attached the die-cut embellishment to a large wooden
spool and then glued in place.
So many patriotic things going on over at Doodlebug Designs this week...check them out!

Fruit Stand Trio

A good Friday to you!
Two of my kids and I just returned from a Spring Break cruise late yesterday
afternoon, so I have lots to catch-up on :)  I'm sooo glad to be home and I'm sooo
ready to start feeling like I'm on land and not on the ocean LOL
Today let's feature the brand new super-super-sweet collection by Doodlebug Designs:
FRUIT STAND
Here are a trio of cards that I made using the 6x6 paper pads, Simply Put Album Inserts,
Fruit Stand embellishments and Mini Cards

 Thanks A Bunch Card
The 6x6 Paper Pads are ideal for cardmaking...the designs are scaled down a bit from
the larger 12x12 prints, so they are perfectly proportionate for card-fronts.
Utilize punches and dies to create one-of-a-kind backgrounds and mats for embellishments

 Hello Sunshine
I let the design from the Simply Put Album Inserts do the work for me here!
For a little added pop, I added the sticker sentiment with foam dots and stitched on a couple of buttons.

You're Berry Sweet
I turned the Swiss Dot Card inside out and covered the pre-cut hole with a banner layered embellishment.
A mix of buttons were threaded and then added to the top of the card with Glue Dots.

Now!  Doodlebug is having a Fruit Stand Preview Party and you could WIN!

Hello Spring!

--Here for the PaperHaus Blog Hop? Click here--

It's all things Flower Box Collection at Doodlebug Designs this week!
For my project, I altered an inexpensive wooden frame that I found at Hobby Lobby.
For the wooden frame, I used a brown chalk-style ink pad to distress the wood.
 I found it best to use a sheet of vellum to create a template for the inset of the frame;
trace onto desired patterned paper and cut out.

For added dimension and interest, I trimmed out the inner edge with a strip of patterned paper followed by a border of Bumblebee Doodle Twine (I use a Fine-Tip Glue Pen for this). I added a row of washi tape and strip of paper to the bottom to mimic a ground full of Spring flowers.

For the focal point, I layered two different sizes of doily die-cuts and then embellished with
several of the Doodle Pops and cardstock stickers from the Flower Box Collection!
A ribbon hanger to the top and it's ready for hanging.
Can you tell that I'm just a little ready for Spring? :)
Many more Flower Box projects to check out at the Doodlebug Blog.
See you tomorrow!

You're Sweet!

I was up at Doodlebug Designs' Blog yesterday
with the final series of posts featuring the "Lovebirds Collection"

Every single thing (except for the white doily die-cut) are from the collection.
It was fun creating projects to show that Lovebirds could be used for much more than just
Valentines's Day!  And I got a special shout-out at Scrapbooks & Cards Today blog as well...so sweet!

Okay, for the month of March we will be showing off the brand new Winter CHA Collections:
Flower Box, Fruit Stand, Stars & Stripes and Take Note
In usual Doodlebug fashion, these are some seriously cute designs...sure to bring a smile :)

Have a wonderful weekend and be sure to stay tuned for a huge PaperHaus Blog Hop,
which is up next here at the Papered Cottage!
