Tussie Mussie
Valentine's Day
Blowing Kisses Tussie Mussie
Cone shapes can be turned into party hats, trees, tussie mussies and more!
Today I have a Valentine’s Tussie Mussie using the sweet “Blowing Kisses” Collection by
ECHO PARK PAPER
www.echoparkpaper.com
www.echoparkpaper.com
I started with a 12x12 sheet of “Tribal Chevron” paper (side B) and a cone pattern
that I found online. There are many, many cone patterns available so just pick your
favorite version! Next, I traced the pattern onto the paper, cut out and assembled.
To the opening of the cone, I added a trim of fringe that I made with white crepe
paper streamer. ..it’s easy to make! Cut three 1 yard lengths of the crepe paper
streamer and stack them together. Machine- stitch (straight stitch) down the center
of the stack. Fold along the stitching and place back onto the sewing machine
with the stitching to the right of the needle. Sew another straight stitch about ¼”
from the first stitching. Cut slits into the streamer to create the fringe look.
Glue around the inside-opening of the cone…I doubled mine to give it a nice, fluffy look.
The front of the tussie was decorated with a layering of beautiful die-cut papers and stickers!
A generous picot-edged ribbon bow was added to the bottom and the same ribbon
was used for the hanger at the top.
Fill your cone with your favorite wrapped candies and have on display for family or friends who may stop by. Make smaller cones for children’s parties or for co-workers.
The vibrant colors of “Blowing Kisses” will definitely create many oooh’s and ahhh’s!

Boo Kitty!
I say this every year at this time, but I'm a Halloween fanatic!
I've always, always loved Halloween, but it seems that the older I get the
more that I love it. The papercrafting industry comes up with the cutest
Halloween themes year-after-year and that definitely keeps my interest ginning :)
The "Frankie & Friends" Collection by
SIMPLE STORIES
is a mix of fun colors, whimsical patterns and adorable characters...
look at Frankie...isn't he a doll?!?!?
For my project this month I really wanted to use the collection in a fun way, so
I headed to Pinterest for some ideas. I had this cat's head treat holder pinned
And here is my take on it using patterned paper & embellishments from the
"Frankie & Friends" Collection:
There are sooo many fun ways that you can dress up the face....
cute & funny or very minimalistic with just eyes and a nose :)
And if you have an extra-special trick-or-treater (or two) on your list,
think of whipping up one of these and filling with all sorts of homemade/bought treats.
The cat that I've made uses an entire sheet of 12X12 (modified) paper, but
you can make smaller versions and leave off the hanger.
See more photos and how I put it together on today's blog post at
Happy weekend!

Sugar Shoppe, Birthday Girl!
Hello, friends! Are you ready for a party?!?
Whether you're an 'older' girl or a young 'un, there's
nothing more fun than the new
SUGAR SHOPPE COLLECTION
by Doodlebug Design
As you can see, I have gathered together some fun party goods
that would surely bring delight to a little (or big) birthday girl!
First up, we have the birthday girl's crown!
I found this cute tiara template online at Picklebums.com
The template shows using the tiara as a front piece only, but for mine
I chose to combine two of them together so that it fits more like a crown.
The front was embellished with some handmade crepe paper ruffle,
some of the Sugar Shoppe stickers and of course, some jewels!
Above, you can see that I also covered the inside but only after
I adhered a pom pom trim around the top edge.
After punching two small holes (at each side), I inserted medium-sized brads
to hold together. You will want to make adjustments according to the size crown that's needed.
And every party needs party favors! With a few paper punches, die-cut shapes and sequins
you can send your guests home with a very original treat.
Ice cream soda? Fill a glass jar with colorful straws and then embellish the outside
with bands of fun washi tapes! I love that the tape can be removed and then the jar
can be used again for a different theme.
Finally, here's a look at my Sugar Shoppe party scene...now all I need are the guests!

Dress Form
Engaged at Last Collection

Engaged At Last!
Yay! It's finally time to share all of the
ENGAGED AT LAST
projects that I made for the Bella Blvd. booth at CHA.
Couldn't you picture this all set up for a bridal shower or bachelorette party?
"Let's Party" Altered Dress Form
All shapes and sizes of metal dress-forms are readily available and fun to transform.
For the skirt, I started with a sheet of 12x12 "He Proposed" paper that I cut in
half to measure 6x12. I then scored each piece (lengthwise) at 1/2" increments.
Fan fold both 6x12 pieces and attach together at one end. At the bottom,
use a corner-rounding punch on every-other fold (if desired).
Next, use a 1/8" hole punch to create holes at the top folds.
Thread a piece of baker's twine or crochet thread through the holes and then
tie around the base of the dress-form.
Pull the tension until the desired 'gathering' of the skirt is formed.
For the top, I simply criss-crossed two 1" wide strips of paper and tucked them
behind the 'waistband' of the dress. I thought that a banner would be fitting for a bridal
shower, so I created one that announces "Bachelorette Party Girls Only"
I used a rolled flower die for the lei of flowers around the bodice.
In finishing, I added a couple of the fun Feathers to the front and back,
as well as a cute stick pin and satin bow.

Basket Full 'O Treat Containers
These little treat containers have the WOW factor, without all of the fuss!
AND you can make them as large or as small as you'd like.
For this lot of favors, I began with a 6x6 square of paper for each.
Using a quick-drying glue or heavy adhesive, glue two ends together; allow to dry.
Next, machine stitch, glue, or staple the bottom end together.
After filling the inside you will want to close the top so that it is creased opposite of the bottom
(I machine stitched these, but a hole punch with ribbon tied through also works beautifully).
There are so many cute way to decorate the fronts of these!
I cut strips of papers and sentiments from the Bachelorette Extras Paper
and layered them with a punched heart and doily die-cut.
For the front of the wire basket, I hand-cut a heart and then backed it with a
medium-weight chipboard. After embellishing, I tied it onto the basket with satin ribbons.
Add matching shredded paper to the bottom and then arrange the favors inside!

S&S Altered Plaque
A sweet display that doubles as a gift for the bride-to-be!
I found this gorgeous, curvy wooden plaque at Michaels.
It was already painted white, which made decorating that much easier.
I started by tracing the shape onto the Bachelorette Party Paper.
In doing so, I wanted to keep the chevron pattern centered,
so I made sure that it was lined-up accordingly before I began to trace.
For the top, I had an extra piece of chipboard from a mini album that I
used to create the bright background. Again, I fashioned a heart by folding a piece
of paper in half and cutting freehand. I cut the same sized heart from a piece of
chipboard and machine-stitched the two together. After adding the heart to the center,
I embellished the top with the initials of the couple, as well as some other fun items!
