Hostess with the Mostess
The holiday brings lots of parties and open houses, so
if you're planning to attend one and need a fun and functional gift, here is an idea!
I've taken a dollar store gift box (size 5"X5") and a few other supplies from Xyron & WRMK:
To the left is a look at the cardboard gift box. I've also used a mason jar steel rule die that measures
5"W X 7"H and cut two pieces of chipboard with it.
Next, I cut out matching jar shapes from the Yuletide Collection from We R Memory Keepers.
Adhesive was applied using the Xyron Creative Station with permanent adhesive.
Both sides of the chipboard was then dressed with the patterned paper pieces.
I also wanted to cover the sides of the box, so I cut another pattern of paper to size and
then used the Xyron Creative Station Lite to add adhesive to those pieces.
For the top of the mason jar, I cut out a "lid" and used the 1.5" Sticker Maker to apply
adhesive to the back.
The mason jar pieces were adhered to the front and back of the box and then decorated
with other accents from the collection.
Now it's ready to be filled with goodies of any kind and the hostess will love it!
There are also other large shapes available such as houses, trees, stars, etc. that you
could use in place of the jar.

Door Hanger
Mason Jar

Dorm Room Decor
It's back to school time for teachers and students of all kinds!
My middle son's girlfriend wanted something to hang on her dorm
room door at college, so I created this whimsical mason jar-style hanger.
For the base, I started with a turquoise dot-embossed poster board from We R Memory Keepers...
but you could also use regular poster board and paint if you can't find blue! For a padded
hanger like this, you will also want a matching piece of poster board for the back.
I free-handed the design and cut the shape (basically, cornering the edges and cutting away a
portion at the top for the lid) from both poster board. Next, I machine-stitched the two
pieces together around the edge with a sewing machine. I lightly stuffed the jar with
fiber fill and then glued the top together.
I created the lid from a silver mat paper, also from We R Memory Keepers. I ran
the piece through the Xyron Creative Station (with 9" permanent adhesive) and attached it.
Lines were drawn on with a permanent marker to create the ridges in the lid.

I used my Eclips to cut out the large lettering and a few sunflowers that I found at
Miss Kate Cuttables. The font that I've used is Brannboll Felt, which closely resembles
the "Ball" jar font.
Again, I used the Xyron Creative Station to adhere all of my cut-out pieces together quickly...
and I know they'll stay STUCK :)
If you notice that some of the adhesives sticks to the edges of the paper when you pull off
the top film, just rub your finger gently over the adhesive and it will roll away.
In finishing, I took a white marker and added a bevel to the bottom of the jar :)
Some thick gauged wire was used for the hanger...and don't forget a name tag and pretty ribbon!

For my card today I've used the Waffle Flower Birthday Fishes Stamp Set & Dies,
and the Xyron 1.5" Sticker Maker.
I also used the new "Let's Be Mermaids" 6x6 paper pad from Echo Park Paper.
I prepared the two mats for the A2 card can ran them through the Creative Station Lite.
The large fish was stamped several times onto different patters of paper with Staz-On ink.
The pieces were carefully trimmed out and placed into the 1.5" Sticker Maker.
Just give a good rub and peel away the film on top. Now the pieces are ready to be
layered together!
After die-cutting the intricate "Awesome" word, it was also ran through the 1.5"
Sticker Maker. This is such a fantastic adhesive tool for small pieces!
I used the background die for the fish and cut out a white background, which the pieced
fishes were added to. I stamped the bubbles with a ocean blue and highlighted with
blue enamel dots. The hats were adorned with tiny poms for extra texture!

Back-to-School Bookmarks
Hello, Tuesday-crafters!
Back-to-school will be here soon enough so I thought I'd
whip up some cute laminated bookmarks to share at school :)
I've used one of my very favorite collections from Echo Park Paper, "Teacher's Pet"
and the Xyron Creative Station Lite and Double-Sided Laminate.
I cut the "Bookmarks" paper into strips following the individual designs.
I used stickers from the collection to add a little extra decoration before I applied the laminate.
Next, I placed two of the 2" wide strips into the Creative Station Lite and ran them through:
After the laminate was applied to all of the bookmarks, I trimmed them out leaving a
1/8" border of laminate around the edges.
I also added some eyelets and ribbon to the top of each.
Now I have a set of 12 sturdy, colorful bookmarks that can be placed in the school library...
the kids will love them! Stop by the Xyron Facebook Page to see more ideas this
week using the fabulous Double-Sided Laminate!

Xyron & Lawn Fawn
Hello! I'm extremely excited about his week's collaboration between
XYRON & LAWN FAWN
We swapped out products to show how well the two companies' work together,
especially when you're dealing with small pieces such as die-cuts!
Look how cute!
I adore the way this adorable card turned out.
I've used the Lawn Fawn "Year Five" Die and Stamp Set,
which hosts an otter and birthday sentiment.
I've also used the "Let's Polka in the Meadow" Petite Paper Pack which
is filled to the brim with the cutest stripes, dots and mini hearts in beautiful colors.
I first stamped the image onto Neenah white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
Okay, so I kinda cheated a little when coloring in the otter! I used the chisel
tip of the GG1 Spectrim Noir alcohol marker to color in and shade. I like how
the long strokes of the marker give a seamless color.
I hand-cut the otter out and then used the matching die to cut a white background for it.
All pieces, and the strip of wavy water that I cut out, were ran through the Xyron 5"
Creative Station Lite. The 3" Permanent Adhesive Refill was placed into the machine.
I also used the 3" Permanent Adhesive to build my card bases and adhere them together.
Finally, I cut an A2 cardbase and adhered the finished piece to the front with the
The otter is holding a present, which is also a part of the stamp and die set.
The sentiment was then stamped in the same Memento Tuxedo Black ink along
the bottom "grassy" area of the card :)
You will find more fun ideas on the Xyron Facebook Page!
And please visit Lawn Fawn too and check out their awesome products
(although, you're probably like me and all ready familiar with their cute stuff!)

Flip Album
Flip Flop Album

Flip Flop-ping!
Happy Friday, crafty friends!
Today I'm up over on the
with this super fun and unique "Flip Flop" Mini Album!
To create the album, I've used the new “Beach Day” Collection and the pair of
flip flops that I found at the Silhouette Design Store!
To start off, I sized the flip flops svg file so that each one measured approximately 8.25”H.
Next, I added a small shadow behind them and used that area to cut from the white cardstock,
or base pages of the album.
After cutting out the ‘shadow’ of each flip flop from white Carta Bella cardstock,
I cut the original flip flops from the “Summer Chevron” patterned paper.
The accent pieces were cut from the reverse of the same patterned paper and attached
with foam adhesive. The patterned paper flips flops were added to the white shadow
pieces and then embellished with ephemera, chipboard and decorative brads.
For the inner pages, the two shadows and flip flops were welded together to form a single cut
around both. To create the ‘backs’ to each page, the design was flipped to mirror the original design.
This made it easy to match up front and back pages and makes the album even sturdier.
Various embellishments such as enamel dots, chipboard stickers, die-cuts, brads and
stickers were used to decorate each page. Foam adhesive was used behind some of the
pieces for extra dimension.
To attach all of the pages together, I used two 1” rings and a hole punch.
Only the RIGHT front page of the album was attached to the first set of double-pages.
All of the other pages were attached through the LEFT front page’s ring,
but there are several ways that you could attach them together!
Here is a list and links of the products that I used from the "Beach Day" Collection:
