A Treat That Does The Trick!

Need a quick, last minute non-candy TREAT idea for Halloween?
These "Drink Collars" will do the TRICK!

What's even better is that you can make them as simple or as elaborate as you'd like!
I started with a beautiful array of Sugar-Coated Cardstock and cut them into 3"X6" strips.
I scored at 4" and used a 1.5" circle punch to create a hole inside of the 2" flap:

Next I selected a few of the patterned papers and 2X2 cut apart cards from the
"Candy Carnival" Collection.  Before attaching with foam and adhesive tapes, I
corner rounded just the bottom two edges of the mat paper and 2X2 cards:

For the straw hanger I die cut a 2" circle and then punched two holes at
along the middle top and bottom with a regular hole punch. The circle was attached
to the back of the sugar coated cardstock with adhesive tape and secured
even further with two assorted brads:

I gently pushed through a paper straw and embellished with a tiny stamped tag.

For smaller bottled drinks, just use a different sized hole punch.  An after-thought:
use Doodlebug stamps to create little "to-be-colored" tags too!

With other holidays around the corner, keep this design in mind for teacher gift,
class parties and open houses!
Thanks for joining me!

Halloween Mini Book Happy Mail

Happy everything-Halloween month!
I'm so excited that one of my favorite months is finally here.
To go along with this month is one of my favorite things to make: happy mail!

I started with this cute, clear cosmetic bag (6.5"X4") that I found at
The Dollar Tree and crafted items to fit neatly inside.

To the zipper pull I attached a shower-curtain ring that holds a spool of washi
tape and a package of bradies.

Next up is this sweet little mini album!  To create this I followed the ingredients below:
12X12 sheet of paper scored at 3", 6" and 9"; turn the paper and repeat the scores again.
Next I cut the 3" and 9" vertical lines just up to the 3" horizontal lines.
To assemble the pages, I folded the pages and attached the panels to the one next to it.
The first panel and last panel will be single pages that you can attach together
at the end of the process.

After decorating the cover and the inside pages with a swatch of paper,
I kept the inside embellishments to a minimum so that it could still be folded.

Stickers, sprinkles, die-cuts and clips are perfect additions for the tiny-mini!

Lastly I made up an ensemble of bitty embellishments and a layered button sampler.

I started with some of the punch-out tags and then layered on the die-cut tickets,
stickers, doodle pops clips and sprinkles!  For the buttons, I used a 3D adhesive dot
to attach enamel sprinkles to the centers of the buttons.  Removable dots were used
to add the buttons to the cute tent die-cut.

Now isn't that sweet!  All of those yummy colors will make your pen pal drool :)
