Winter Wonderland Tiered Display

Winter is here and what better way to brighten up your crafty space (or desk area)
than with an adorable tiered display featuring Winter Wonderland!

I love to decorate this metal tiered stand (I found at Wal Mart) for different seasons; I like to make it functional too with some of my go-to craft supplies.

To the tray I also like to add an "ornament" or sign for each tier, purely for fun and decoration!
For the winter theme, I chose to craft two little displays using the create-a-cards as the base.  I added a small wooden disc to the bottom of the cards to secure their standing.

I had so much much sifting through the die-cuts, doodle-pops and washi tapes to create the two cute scenes for the sign-fronts.

Next I wanted to add some height and texture to my tray, so I chose two 6" bottle brush trees.  To them I added the gorgeous acetate snowflake (just attach with hot glue) and a button to the center.  I also adhered a dimensional adhesive dot to the bottom of the tree to hold in place.

And even the store-bought spool of trim got some attention!  I simply traced the top onto a swatch from the 6X6 paper pad, trimmed out and embellished.

Tiny jars are my fave!  I purchased these at the Dollar Tree and boy do they come in handy.  When I'm set to use certain colors, I'll fill the jars with pins, clips and other small bits.  I also found this handy doweled stand where I can thread on my assortment of winter-y washi tapes.

And I hope you didn't miss the front of the top tier where I added the sweet bunting.  I chose to attach it with repositionable adhesive dots so that it can be preserved once the tray moves into Spring.

This Winter Wonderland display just brightens any dreary day!
Thank you for joining me today!

Handy Last Minute Christmas Gift

Need a last minute teacher or co-worker gift? Or just something to have on hand for those unexpected Christmastime visitors? These adorable emery board sleeves are a breeze to create and everyone loves receiving them!

To begin I started with various double-sided patterned paper strips that measured 1.25" X 12".  Before scoring, think about how the print will be facing when the bottom flap is turned up.  Next I scored each of the short sides approximately 1/8" from the edge.  Depending on the width of your emery board, you may need to may adjustments; I always create a template first before cutting "good" paper LOL!
Next I turned the paper and scored at 7 3/8" and 7.5" and then folded along all of the score lines.  The shortest end will be the part that flips up to make the front cover.

Once the bottom flap was folded up, I used it as a guide to trim away the excess side pieces for the back (see above).  Finally, all of the sides were assembled as you would create a box...this is where 1/8" tape comes in handy!

Finally I stamped, colored and cut images from the Doodle Stamp Sets and layered them onto die-cut circles and scalloped shapes.  A few "sprinkles" and ribbon and they're ready for gifting!

I wanted something cute to deliver my gifts in, so I whipped up this quick little clear bag using a dollar store envelope file that I cut in half.  I machine-stitched around the perimeter, crafted a quick tag and then attached a couple of paper handles with brads!  Now I'm ready to HO HO HO :)

Thank you for joining me today!

Doodlebug Snowglobe Treat Jar

I must confess that I have made quite a few of these adorable, adorable "Snow Globe Treat Jars" over the last couple of years.  After receiving the collection of "Christmas Magic" Collection, I knew that I must make another!
You may choose to use any-sized jar really.  For mine today, I have a one gallon apothecary jar that I found at Wal-Mart.  They're very inexpensive and can be used for all types of displays.

First, I placed a strange of battery operated (white line) mini lights and added flaky snow as I wound the lights inside.
After creating the nice mound of snow, I added a handmade gingerbread house using the 6X6 paper pad, white glitter cardstock for the roof and other fun components from the collection! All sides of the little house were embellished.  One may decide to add a battery-operated tea-light (some have timers, which is very handy!) if the windows are cut-out.

I placed the Doodle-Pop snowman onto a trimmed paper straw and gently poked him down in to the snow.  For the trees, I cut two various-sized "cones" and then added a few Sprinkles.

To the top of the jar I added a fun and whimsical bow and embellished the center with one of the die-cut tags and a mini clip decorated with a heart sticker.  The ideas are literally ENDLESS when you have so much Doodlebug yummy to pick from:)

If you don't have a die to create your own gingerbread house, simply use a box and then create a tent style top for the roof.  There are also many pre-made houses on the market that are very easy to cover as desired.  These look so cute in various sizes all lined up on a table top or shelf...have fun!
