Gingerbread House Mini Mini & Tree Gift Bag

It's a gift inside of a gift! Today I have a super cute "mini-mini" album that I've tucked inside of a simple-to-make tree gift bag!  Get that assembly line going...this would be the perfect little gift for snail mail, grandkids, or use them as a place setting treat.

I will have a YouTube video available of the tree-treat bag, but first, let's talk about the Gingerbread House Mini Mini!

I started with the "Visions of Sugarplums"Stamp and Die Set. The gingerbread house was stamped onto a piece of the Kraft Woodgrain (Buffalo Check Petite Prints) and then carefully trimmed out.  Next, I stamped the image again onto various papers of blue, red and green from the 6X6 "Night Before Christmas" Paper Pad.
As you can see, everything was paper-pieced into place.  White and red Sugar Coated glitters were used on the rooftop, steps and candy canes!

For the mini album pages, I used the same gingerbread house die to cut the shape from patterned papers and heavy-white cardstock. I layered the patterned papers (front and back) onto the white cardstock. Each of the pages were embellished and then added to a ring.

I used the completed album to figure out the size of the triangle-shaped gift bag.  To see how I put the bag together, please visit my YOUTUBE CHANNEL.

I completed the front of the tree bag with Doodle Frills, die-cuts and Doodle Pops!  The handle is a simple red/white chenille stem...voila!

Christmas Countdown Flip Calendar

Perfect for a child's room or a desk in your office!

Today I'm sharing the sweetest mini Christmas Countdown Flip Calendar using the new "Night Before Christmas" Collection by Doodlebug Design.

I started with a few basic supplies from Amazon: a 3-Ring-Binder-Bar; the rings are 1".  For the base of the flip album I've used white backing chipboard, but plain chipboard is fine.

I cut the chipboard pieces to measure 3.5"X5 (2 pieces) and 3.5"X2".  Next I cut a strip of the Petite Print Woodgrain Lily White Paper 3.5" and left the bar code strip on the bottom (so roughly 12.25").  I used the patterned paper to form the easel by gluing the chipboard pieces, with the smaller 2" piece in the middle (be sure to leave a 1/16" gap between all three pieces so it will fold without obstruction).

I dressed the front of the easel with patterned paper and strips of the Limeade Paper Frills.  The numbered cards were cut apart and then layered onto mats of paper that measured 2.5"X4".
After folding the easel into shape, I found the placement for the three ring bar.  Next I punched the holes and used that as a guide for punching holes in the numbered cards!

I outlined the edges of the easel (to hide the chipboard edge) with regular Doodle Twine and Bearly Art Glue...works perfectly!

To the front, I added a mini-clothespin that I embellished with a Doodle Pop Candy Cane and then tied on an embellished metal tag!

I kept the embellishments for the remaining cards as low-profile as possible.  I used Mini Icon Stickers, Sprinkles and Paper Frills to add a little POP!

All done!  What a great craft for the kids to help out with too...just prep the cards and have them add stickers and sprinkles :)

Thanks for joining!

Turkey Treat Containers | With Shellye

Little kids and big kids and grown adults too, would love to be greeted with these cute TURKEY TREAT CONTAINERS; add a name tag and use them for your place settings as well!

Let me begin by sharing my YOUTUBE CHANNEL, where I have a complete step-by-step process video of how to put one of these together and all of the supplies needed.

I started with a 12x12 sheet of the Bon Bon Buffalo Check-Woodgrain patterned papers and adhered it to a heavyweight cardstock.  Next, I die-cut the scallop shape using the next-to-the-largest die from the "Nesting Scallops" Doodle Cuts set.  The outer scalloped circle fits nicely onto the plastic storage cup.  I found a package of the disposable cups at the dollar store!

Next, I die cut the inner circle using a 1.75" circle die and hot glued it to the bottom of the cup.  A smaller 1.5" circle die was used to die-cut the head.  The wings were simply cut using the plaid paper from the Pumpkin Spice 6X6 Pad and the Leaf Die from the same Nesting Scallops die set.

For the feet I used the square tag die from the Mini Tags Doodle Cuts and cut a piece from the orange woodgrain paper.  The tab of the tag was trimmed off, the paper folded in half, and then glued to the bottom of the scallop.  I also used one of the larger hearts, from the same die set, to die cut the wattle (I call it a goozle in the video hahaha!). The beak is a snip from the orange Paper Frills scalloped paper :)
A couple of black Sprinkles for the eyes, a bow and tag and it's ready for filling with treats!

Again, I hope that you'll hop over to my YOUTUBE CHANNEL to see the full process and glean a better understanding of just how easily and quickly this sweet little project comes together.
Thanks for joining!

You've Been Boo'd Box | With Shellye

You've been boo'd!  What a fun way to share surprising little gifts with neighbors and friends this Halloween!  The concept is quite simple: fill up a bag, basket or box with treats and a message that they've "been boo'd"...in turn, they pay it forward by boo'ing someone else.

For my box, I've upcycled a cereal box and incorporated pieces from the "Ghost Town" Collection:

To start, I began by cutting a cereal box in half (it's easiest if you disassemble the box, cut and glue).

The box then measures 7.5X2.5X5.5. I covered the half-box with patterned paper before re-gluing.

The front was decorated with the "BOO" cut-apart cards, Doodle Pops and letter stickers.  I also added paper handles to the sides.

To the inside of the basket, I tucked a little premade notebook that I covered with strips of washi tape and added a Jelly Clip to the top!  Next, I used one of the larger Create-A-Card envelopes and added paper treats inside :)  The outside was decorated with one of the sweet die-cut houses, sticker letters and held together at the top with two mini clothes pins.

I wanted something to hold small bars of chocolate, so I die-cut a pillow box from patterned paper, wrapped it in ribbon and made a cute tag!

Finally is a package of handmade bows!  I made these using two of the Doodle Cuts Mini Tags and a large brad:

From the set of little dies, you could actually create an array of different sizes and shapes.  For these particular bows, I folded the rectangular tags in half and glued. I lined up all four of the tags (for one bow) by matching up the tabbed holes and then inserted a large brad through to hold them all together!  I left the tails so that they could be positioned out horizontally or folded down.

I used one of the 4X6 cards as a base for attaching the bows. By using a repositionable glue dot, the bows won't slide around and can easily be removed. The sheet of bows was placed inside a cellophane bag and topped with a fun bag topper!  I make my bag toppers by simply folding a piece of paper in half and stapling to the top.

Now that the bag has been filled, I can add a typed note of instructions (found on Pinterest) for how the recipient can boo the next person! What great fun...I hope you'll try it!
