Card Christmas Album
So last week I shared a card that I made with
TOP DOG DIES'
A2 Card Die #4... Today I have a beautiful Merry Christmas Album
that I made with this same die!
Along with the A2 Card Die #4, I've used the Ornament & Tags #1 Die Set.
All of the pretty papers, chipboard and stickers are from Pink Paislee's "Snow Village" Collection.
I used one of the gold foil die-cut ephemera pieces in the collection to cut the
tops for the ornaments and then layered the pieces onto the album front with foam adhesive.
Above, I turned one of the lacy SophieA2 Mat Dies into a journal card by
drawing a few lines onto the piece with a Zig pen.
Some of the Snow Village embellishments layered together with some May Arts' seam binding.
For the base pages, I actually used the back piece from a paper pad...so any light-weight chipboard;
or heavy weight chipboard will work too since this is a steel-rule die.
Because this die will also score, just be sure to not 'bend' the chipboard or the
patterned papers after you have ran them through the die-cutting machine.
For the final page, I took one of the Mason Jar Album Finishers and used it for a
journaling area. Again, I simply drew on some lines with my Zig pen.
I love the generous sized-album that this die created...I look forward to
trying out a couple of other designs with it in the near future...let's hope it works out
on paper like I have it pictured in my head LOL
Goodbye for now!

Bella's Friday Sketch
Time for the semi-monthly "Friday Sketch" with Bella Blvd!
This card was inspired by the blooms on this month's sketch.
I just trimmed my design to two flowers instead of three.
For the stems, I adhered a strip of Pickle Juice Dot Designer Tape to a piece of cardstock
and then cut into thin pieces. The blooms were a layer of die cuts from a mix of patterned
papers and a few stickers. A happy bee adds a little extra whimsy.
And what is a flower without a bee!
Supplies: Play Date: Captions; Trick or Treat: Spooky Town; Snapshots: Daily Details,
Rise & Shine, Pajama Day, Alpha+Bits; Designer Tape: 12 mm Combo
I replaced the flowers with a trio of hand-cut houses from the City Sidewalks paper!
After stitching a 'hill' onto a blue background, I added the houses with foam adhesive.

Happy Harvest
Thankful
Thankful For...
One of our project assignments this month for
DOODLEBUG DESIGN
was to create a project exemplifying what we're thankful for.
It's always easy for me to count my blessings, although I may not do it as often as I should.
But not a day goes by that I'm not eternally grateful for a cozy home and my sweet family!
As you can see, I have two large circles in the center of the page...it's my "plate of thanks" :)
Before adding the photos, I cut a strip of paper and then stitched a few X's over the center for decoration...sort of like a napkin laying to the side.
Appropriate stickers were attached to each photo, as well as some of the cute characters
from the Happy Harvest Collection.
For the heading of the layout, I trimmed down one of the Simply Put cards to the size of my photo
and then added one of the cute Flags to the top.

I'm not sure that I'll post again tomorrow, so just in case I don't let me wish a

I took these beautiful photos the day after Christmas...we received almost 10" of the white stuff
on Christmas night...almost unheard of in Texas! I wanted to mimic the rolling hills and valleys
that were covered in snow so I created my own with paper.

I had a blast playing with the patterns and trying to decide just which ones I wanted to use.
You have to admit that this is one stunning collection...love!

From one of the 6X6 paper bundle sheets, I cut three large snowflakes with a die by Spellbinders.
Next, each one was topped with a disc of paper punched from the back of the Components
sheet and a button.

Although there wasn't much to creating the design, I thought it would be fun to point out that
there are so many looks you can achieve from making this one cut. First, draw a wavy line onto
the back of the paper you are wanting to use and cut out.

At first I thought this look above would be nice...and then I started shifting the smaller piece
around and finally decided on the look that you see on the layout.
For even more contrast, add a strip of paper to separate the two designs or add even more
wavy patterns! There are so many things that you can do with plain 'ole paper;
I enjoyed thinking a little outside of my box with this one :)

Snowy Scene
A good Friday to you all!
Today I have a very clean-and-simple Christmas card made with
TOP DOG DIES
and a cute print from Lawn Fawn's "Fa La La" 6X6 Paper Pad.
The die that I used for this card is steel-rule A2 Card #4.
I really, really like the design of this die because it can be turned as I have it
shown here, opened to the right or with the flap at the top. You could also
create a gift card holder with it or an envelope!
First, I cut the actual card base from a white piece of cardstock.
Next, I cut the design of patterned paper (shown above) using just the
scrolled portion of the die.
I took the same paper from the pad and lined up the scroll piece over the other
paper so that the design matched (see above); place the layered pieces back onto the die
(follow the indentations on the die so that you will have proper placement).
Remove the scroll piece of paper and run the second piece back through to die-cut.
Adhere the pieces to the card and use a set of thin magnets to hold the flap closed.
I embellished lightly with just a smattering of small pearls to resemble snowflakes,
a die-cut sentiment from Elle's Studio and an evergreen ribbon bow by May Arts Ribbon!
I cannot wait to try out more stuff with this die...I'm thinking it would make a cool mini album too :)
Have a fun weekend!

Tag Mini Album
12 Days of December Documented
This past week at SIMPLE STORIES, we shared
all sorts of projects with Daily Grind, SN@P! and Spellbinders!
so I went with a tag-style mini album focusing on the "12 Days of Christmas"
For the base of the album, I started with Spellbinder's Wonky Rectangles Nestabilities
and used the largest (3.25" X 4.25") die. I first cut the shape from a thin weight chipboard
and then various papers from the 6X6 December Documented
Although using smaller dies from the same set would also look just as sweet, I decided to
go with an oval shape (2.25" X 3") from the Spellbinder's Classic Ovals Nestabilities.
And I just fell in love with Spellbinder's Layered Poinsettias ...I use a lot of snowflakes for winter/Christmas themes, so this was a nice change! For the front, I used two of the smaller
poinsettia shapes and then glittered the yellow centers.
poinsettia shapes and then glittered the yellow centers.
Before attaching the little penguin guy to the top of the cover, I applied him to a piece of paper
and then trimmed out; this added stability and also took away the sticky. To the bottom,
I glued on a pom pom trim from May Arts Ribbon.
Above and below are all of the pages to commemorate the 12 Days of Christmas.
When adding photos, I plan to use one of the smaller ovals to die-cut my photos.
Between each 'day' I have added a cut-down piece of overlay from the
December Documented Collection Kit, as well as SN@P! Pockets and
December Documented 3x4 SNA@P! Cards.
This concept would also make a cute brag book for a new mom or grandma.
Add more SN@P! pockets and fill with movie tickets or gift cards...a gift within a gift!
Let me know if you have more ideas or how you would use a mini like this!
Thanks for dropping by :)

Authentique & Petaloo
We love, love, love teaming up with Petaloo at
AUTHENTIQUE PAPER
This past week was filled with all sorts of designs combining products from the
two companies...there is also a giveaway, so check out the blog for more information on that.
I have a quartet of sweet ornaments using Authentique's Joyous Collection
and goodies from Petaloo, such as flowers, buttons, trim, stickers, etc.
For the base of each ornament I started with a corrugated banner shape.
From the "Magical" 12X12 paper, I cut the different motifs and then attached them
to the banner with foam adhesive.
Reindeer ornament- I cut the green doily shape from one of the 6X6 Bundle papers and
layered on one of the stickers from the collection. Two of the small poinsettias and
pearl stick pin from Petaloo were added.
Believe ornament- Before attaching the cut-out, a band of crochet trim was added
to the back of the piece. All of the buttons were adhered with a large glue dot, with the
exception of the center button, which was hand-stitched in place.
Checking it Twice ornament- Two leaves were die cut and embossed from the
green 6X6 Bundle papers. A large Petaloo poinsettia was studded with a small sequin embellishment and then clustered on top of the leaves with two foam candy canes, also by Petaloo!
'Tis the Season ornament- the top of the banner sticker was adorned with a
horizontal and of Petaloo treats! Because the backs of the buttons include shanks,
I removed them before attaching with glue dots.
Have fun creating little pieces of art in each ornament...think of each as a collage
and layer on as many sweet embellishments to bring charm and sparkle to your holiday decor!
The corrugated banner pieces are by SEI and come in a large pack.
Authentique Products- Joyous Collection: Magical Paper; Details Sticker Sheet; 6X6 Paper Bundle
Petaloo- Beaded Hat Pins; Med Red Poinsettias; Small Red Poinsettias; Crochet Lace Fancy
Trims White: Tiffany's Treasures Red; Dazzlers Candy Cane; Vintage Buttons
Other- Leaf Die- Spellbinders; Doily Die- Top Dog Dies
