Totally Smitten

When love is in the air, Smitten by Authentique Paper is the collection to reach for!
And what's better?
If you have some of last year's Lovely on hand, then use it to mix 'n match...
they're precious together!
Today I have a sweet little wall hanging made from upcycled packaging
The packaging are two wooden trays that once held wood veneers; they each measure
 3.25" X 4.5" with openings that measure 1.25" X 1.5"
I painted the outside and most of the inside with red acrylic paint.
After the paint dried, I glued the two together with Aleene's Quick Dry Glue.
Each of the squares were filled in with a swatch of patterned paper from the
6X6 Smitten Paper Bundle.  I die cut two lace ovals from one of the black background
papers in the collection and then layered on various stickers/die-cuts.
Because the wood is quite thin, I used a Crop-A-Dile to punch holes in the top and then
strung through some May Arts' ribbon for the hanger. To the bottom, I cut a couple
of strips of paper into banner shapes and glued them into place.  For a finished look,
cut a piece of patterned paper to the same size as the wooden tray and attach to the back.
You could also die-cut photos to fit inside of the squares or add dates such as anniversaries,
engagements, etc.  All-in-all, it's just a fun piece to have hanging around!
