Rivers & Roads...The Kit

I'm so in love with the "Rivers & Roads" Kits from
SCRAPTASTIC CLUB
Although the main kit is sold out, the add-on kit and several
of the embellishments from the kits are still available!

The colors are of confectionery goodness and reek of SPRING!

For our challenge this week, Melissa Mann and I went B*I*G
She created a 12X12 layout with the focus being a 5X7 photo or larger.
For the challenge I created two 5X7 cards, which are fairly new to me,
but I really, really love them; especially with the inception of journal cards!

With the print of roses at the bottom-left of the card (above), I wanted to create a
trellis type of design by adding a larger center element, followed by a smaller
embellishment at the top-right hand corner.  I die cut the lace heart and then layered
it with different pieces from the “Rivers and Roads” March Kit.  The word “grow” was
inked with navy and then attached with Zip Dry.

The 4X6 journal card found on this design has a band of white, which breaks up
the dot pattern.  I tied on a piece of 5/8 satin ribbon, from my stash, across the band.
Next, I took one of the smaller 3X4 cards and embossed it before attaching to the
center of the dot pattern.  I trimmed one of the floral die-cuts, from the Dear Lizzy
pack, to fashion a cluster of flowers for the basket of the bicycle.
Finally, I added a heart die-cut, a “hello” sentiment sticker and the smallest
pink acrylic heart from the bunch :)

Now aren't these sweet!?!  Again, I love this kit and can't wait to
make even more goodies with it!

  1. Well, Yes, I would say these are SWEEEEEET!!!!!! You made amazing big cards with this kit and wow - the details and the things you added to each one just make them perfect!!!! Love that gorgeous blue ribbon on the bike card and the die cut doily on the first card just adds such class to that card!!! Very well done - so classy and so beautiful!!!!
