Rawr-Some Cup Card

Celebrate any little guy's birthday with this Rawr-some Card...
and it's not just any card, it's a 3D diorama-style Cup Card!

To get started  I've used a paper to-go coffee cup with plastic lid.  I found
this package of cups at my local dollar store for just a couple of dollars.

I used a craft knife to separate the bottom of the cup, as well as cutting the top portion of the cup in half as shown above.  The cup comes with the kraft wrapper, which I used as well.

The lid was covered with a disk of patterned paper and then trimmed with chunky twine.  The Jelly Clip fits perfectly inside of the little spout!

The bottom of the cup was covered with green gingham paper and then a strip of the same paper was die-cut with a grass die.  If you don't have a grass die: cut a strip of paper that measures 5"W X 1.5"H and cut away small strips to resemble blades of grass. The grass strip is then wrapped around the bottom of the cup and curled a bit at the ends.

To decorate the outside and inside of the cup, I used the flattened cup as a template and traced onto two different patterns of paper and cut out.  After attaching the papers , I glued on a trim of chunky twine to give a finished look.

Different dinosaur die-cuts were attached to pieces of paper straw.  The ends of the straws were clipped into three sections to create a "foot" and then glued to the bottom of the cup.

The front of the kraft band was embellished with a sentiment and small dino sticker.

After the card cup is opened, it can be displayed by stacking the cup into the kraft band and then onto the lid.  Such a sweet little keepsake for your RAWR-SOME little one!
