Guesting With Spice Market
Hey y'all! I'm a day late sharing (actually I got my days mixed up),
but I was up yesterday as a Guest Designer with
BASIC GREY
I chose to work with one of the new collections, "Spice Market"
It's so pretty with its showcase of paprika, aqua, navy and olive!
I also mixed in a few of their enamel dots, but everything else was created
with this specific collection:
I have a paper-folding technique up on the BG Blog for this card :)
A few layers using die-cuts and a journal card that I trimmed down to show
off the decorative edge.
off the decorative edge.
I loved this paper with all of the gorgeous blooms...here, I fussy-cut a couple of them
out and made them the focal point of the design.
I highlighted the center of the pretty journal card with a die-cut heart and
then layered on some of the stickers from the collection.

Have a terrific day!

A Charmed Life
A Charmed Life
by
SIMPLE STORIES
can lean towards your St. Patty's decor, Spring projects or
masculine layouts. I love that it can be used for so many different subjects!
And the colors of kelly green, royal blue and sunny yellow make the collection
even more fun to play with!
First up I have just the sweetest little hanger using A Charmed Life
and a few goods from my stash:
I started with a heavyweight chipboard semi circle that I covered with Happy Times Paper.
Next, I matted the cute Insta Square with a swatch of the Happy Times (Side B) Paper and
then attached it to the center of the semi-circle with foam adhesive. I embellished the top
of the Insta Square with one of the small chipboard flowers and a yellow brad for the center.
To the bottom, I added some felt flowers from my stash and die-cut a few
leaves from the Happy.Go.Lucky Paper. Using some fabric glue, I inserted the
two navy brads into the middle of the yellow felt flowers. A couple of punched holes
were made and some pretty turquoise ribbon strung through for hanging.
A Charmed Life Products: -Chipboard #3728 -Brads #3727
-Happy.Go.Lucky Paper #3707 -Happy Times Paper #3709 -Insta-Squares #3730
Next is an easy, easy, EASY card :)
I think we could classify this as a "5-minute-or less" card! I cut the base paper
1/2" smaller than the card, which gives a nice border of the card peeking through.
The heart-motif Insta Square was added with foam adhesive and then embellished
with one of the Bits & Pieces' tags and a brad.

-Bits & Pieces #3729 -Expression Cardstock Stickers #3703
And lastly a cool frame that I collaged into fun home decor item:
I started by removing the glass from the frame and reserving just the back piece.
To it, I adhere a thin sheet of corkboard (you can find sheets or rolls at your local craft store).
I took a couple of the SN@P! cards and trimmed them down so that they would create
an even grid of four. For extra interest, I machine stitched around the edge
of each card before attaching to the corkboard.
Each rectangle was adorned with different pieces from all around the
"A Charmed Life" Collection! Bits & Pieces, Chipboard shapes, brads and stickers were added.
In finishing, I glued on a whimsical bow from some May Arts ribbon. If you're
interested in creating a perpetual collage, use push pins or removable adhesive
so that the cards can be changed out with each season!

Stamping in Brush Strokes
Happy Wednesday, everyone!
I played around with the Color Wash Stamps by
PINK PAISLEE
this past week and wanted to share a couple of ideas.
The stamps come with a three different swaths of brush stroke stamps,
as well as six sentiments and a couple of different icons:
Here are two totally different projects that I made by incorporating the
brush stroke images from the set:

This egg shape is part of the
Cotton Tail Village Collection from SVGCuts.com
If you have your own personal cutting system, give this project a try!
Although there is a tutorial available on the SVGCuts website, I will give you a little
play-by-play on how to put it all together.

You will start with a foundation piece that all of the smaller pieces are adhered to.
For this, I like to use the heaviest cardstock that I can find...Authentique's papers
work perfectly for projects such as this!

After all of the smaller egg 'tiles' were cut, I distressed the edges in a walnut ink and

The bottom of the egg sits on this handy 'box', which is also a part of the cutting file.
I trimmed around the top with some pretty May Arts novelty ribbon and then added some
felt flowers from my stash. On the front of the box, I adhered one of the punch-out
pieces from the Components Die-Cut Paper Accents sheet.

I think the little details make the project! In finishing the house, I glued lengths of pink/white
baker's twine between the seams of each panel. I love how it tied everything together
and hid some of the imperfect edges created when cutting.

Wall Hanging
May Arts + Stampendous Fun!
Welcome to Day #1 of the
STAMPENDOUS & MAY ARTS BLOG HOP
Be sure to start with May Arts Blog and leave a comment so that
you're in the running for one of THREE prizes to be given away at the end of the week:
**1 spool of ribbon, a jumbo cling stamp set and handle**
I have two different projects to share today using the goodies that
Stampendous sent, and some May Arts ribbon of course :)
First up is an 8X10 canvas that I framed for hanging.
I'm not much of a 'mixed media' artist, so I went fairly clean-and-simple with this:
For the stamping: I used the Spider Mum Jumbo Cling Stamp, along with
Black Staz-On Ink and Aquarelle Watercolor Pencils by Faber Castell.
I stamped the 'mum' part first and then came back and added the stem and leaves.
For the coloring, I blended four different colors of Aquarelles: 121, 115, 111 & 108.
After the coloring was completed, I blended the shades together with a blending pen.
The leaves were a blend of Olive by Close To My Heart and the Aquarelle #108.
I added some dimension along the stem with a strand of the beautiful new
3mm Diamond Chain in black from May Arts. To adhere the strand to the canvas,
I used a bead of Glossy Accents...but any strong, clear adhesive glue should work.
I removed the glass from the frame and then inserted the canvas.
After doing so, I trimmed around the inner edge of the frame with
Olive Mini Pom Pom Ribbon using fabric glue.
Finally, a yellow bow from the 5/8" Grosgrain Dots Ribbon was added.
Finally, a yellow bow from the 5/8" Grosgrain Dots Ribbon was added.
And next up is a sweet little hanging that was quick, fun and easy to assemble!
I've used the Stampendous Stack Art Embellishment Kit and the Sumptuous Stack Art
Elements Kit EK MO3, along with patterned paper from Authentique Paper's
Flourish Collection and Teal 5/8" Satin/Grosgrain Double Band Ribbon and lace
trim from May Arts.
In the kit, you will find chipboard pieces along with matching sheets of adhesive.
Just apply the die-cut adhesive over the chipboard shape and then glitter!
There is also a sheet of different quotes that will fit into the window opening.
These make really cute gifts to have on hand for those last-minute parties or
forgotten birthdays :)
That is all that I have for you today...hope that you've enjoyed today's hop!
Don't forget to check in at the May Arts' Blog each day this week for more inspo!

Valentines
What's New Wednesday
Every Wednesday we share the latest and greatest finds from
BELLA BLVD
The script on this Candid Card is so cute! I didn't want to distract the "pretty" wording with
too much embellishing, so I chose two 'white' areas and filled in with some die-cuts that I cut in half.
Change up the wording to reflect exactly what you'd like to say to the recipient ... with the
High Five Alpha stickers, you can pick from large to small fonts, as shown here!
Supplies: Freestyle Sophisticates: Freestyle Peep; Family Forever: Language of Love,
Paper Pieces; High Five Alpha Stickers: Piggy Punch; Molly: Candid Cards;
Button Market: Hot Pink Flowers
The Candid Cards are perfect backdrops for your cards! I used two of the 3X4 cards
and cut them in half so that the other halves can be used later. Next, I attached the heart
card with foam adhesive and kept the embellishments simple by using a flower sticker
and a couple of layered buttons.
Supplies: Freestyle Sophisticates: Freestyle Peep; Molly: Candid Cards; Family Forever:
Treasures & Text; Button Market: Neutral Mix, Fruit Punch
All of the NEW Bella Blvd collections are shipping, so look for them at your
favorite scrapbook store soon!

monday challenge
Valentines
Red, White and Pink
I'm a little late, but I have the
MONDAY MORNING CHALLENGE
to share from Bella Blvd!
Our challenge was to use the conventional Valentine colors of
red, white and pink for an everyday project.
The best part about cardmaking is that "I Love You's" can be
given anytime of the year, so I kept with that theme in mind :)
Because Bella Blvd papers are full of fun chevron patterns, this card can be recreated
with any theme in mind! I highlighted the lighter area with strips of Designer Tape
and then embellished the front simply with layers of Crochet Hearts and a couple of
chipboard stickers. I hesitated adding the green leaves, but I really love the extra
color that it brings to an all-ready colorful card!
Supplies: Play Date: Tabs; Daily Chevies: Chevy Peep; Ciao Chip Elements: Stars & Hearts,
Trees; Crochet Hearts: McIntosh, White; Designer Tape: Red Dot
I love combining different elements from different collections and watch the design evolve!
From the heart die-cut, I cut the sentiment "love you more" from it and then covered the area
with a strip of the Borders paper. I then layered on the sentiment and added a couple of
hand-cut flowers and leaves from the Molly paper. I gave the leaves some color with a
brush marker before attaching. I wanted to give the die-cut heart a little extra 'frill',
so I used one of the scalloped heart dies (by Spellbinders) and mounted the heart onto it.

Sweetheart Collection
Unconditional Love: The Canine Kind
Through February 14th, we're playing with the new
Sweetheart Collection
by
DOODLEBUG DESIGN
Who can resist posing with their canine pal?
Today I'm up with a special layout of my daughter and our beloved Bear on Christmas Day.
Sydnee couldn't wait to give him his Christmas treat!
I normally love black and white photos
(basically because I don't have to worry about clashing colors LOL),
but to go along with the Kraft look found in the Sweetheart Collection, I used a sepia tone
for this layout. I am really excited about the addition of the cut-out journal cards; for the title,
I cut one of the cards down to size and then used the Love Letters Stickers to spell it all out!
Doodle Washi Tape is one of my very favorite things and I love seeing them ALL together!
So, I cut a piece of white cardstock to 6" X 9" and applied the various patterns as shown...
for extra POP, I added it to the base paper with foam adhesive.
A portion of the Valentine Tickets was used as a little journaling spot.
And I think I speak for all of the Design Team when I say that we were MOST
excited about the Paper Doilies! Here, I cut one in half and tucked it behind the washi tape panel.
A trio of heart stickers were placed to create a visual triangle. I topped each heart with
a small flower sticker adorned with a Sprinkles center :)
I hope that you enjoy the Sweetheart Collection as much as I do!
