I chose an apricot colored textured cardstock as the base of the image.
I used colored markers for the hair, the blue in the dress and red heart.

I love Phyllis Harris' artwork...her sweet-faced people are just so darned cute!
They never fail to put a smile on my face and this little angel girl is no exception
I chose an apricot colored textured cardstock as the base of the image.
I also stamped onto a piece of patterned paper and then carefully cut the
dress out. The arm and heart were cut (or stamp image again onto apricot
cardstock) from the original image with an X-Acto knife before
attaching the dress.
I used colored markers for the hair, the blue in the dress and red heart.
I also touched up her cheeks with a bit of blush with pink chalk.
I added her, next to the stamped sentiment, with foam dots.
A row of small punched hearts were stitched to the bottom...simple 'n sweet!

December Kit
Layout
paper bakery
Sneak Peek
A Couple of Masked Bandits
Happy Hump Day!
Wednesdays are my days to blog over at
THE PAPER BAKERY
and I have a sweet layout up using the December Add-On Kit
I ran across this picture of my kids…it was actually one that my mom took several years ago.
I love how Sydnee’s mask is crooked and you can only see ONE eye hehehe!
I started with a piece of cardstock and began selecting the patterned papers
from the December Paper Bakery Kit that I wanted to use.
I knew that I wanted lots of black elements to bring out the black masks…
and doesn’t the black/white striped paper remind you of the old prison outfits?
LOL So I tucked a bit of it in as I began layering.
After punching out a few different sized stars, I covered them in
paper and then stitched around the edge. I cut the sentiment portion from the tag
(included in the December Add-On Kit) and corner rounded the edges for a nice effect.
I used my personal cutting machine to create the “bandits” part of the title
…for the “masked” part I just cut the letters from one of the Studio Calico papers from the kit!
I ended up with lots of lovely layers by using a couple of the journal cards and
by heavily matting the photo.
Finally…a photo that had been sitting in a box for years at last found a home :)
We’ll be sharing fun with the January Paper Bakery Kit SOON!
Here’s a little bitty peek at something that I came up with:
In the hunt for an original kit club?
Come and check out The Paper Bakery!
Kits go on sale around the 15th of each month

Love and Marriage
Love & Marriage
BELLA BLVD
continues with sneak peeks of their wonderful new products!
Today it's Love & Marriage
And today I have a card featured on the blog!
A wedding cake with decorative swirls of frosting and
a bouquet of sugar flowers...that's what this card reminds me of!
Top it off with a beautiful wedding gown and it just screams "let's get married!"
I started with a plain white card that I embossed (hence the decorative swirls of frosting)
and then began layering with soft hues from the "Love & Marriage" Collection.
For the focal point, I cut an oval shape from the "Cake Tasting" paper
and then added the chipboard gown to its top.
After attaching the hand-cut heart with foam dots,
I then simply embellished with the sweet flag stickers...just add to the heart with a thin foam dot.
Finally, the crochet heart added the soft touch and the pop
of green leaves is just enough, but not too much color to complete the card.
Supplies:
Love & Marriage: Cake Tasting Paper; Turner Hall Ballroom Paper; Cute Cuts; Alpha+Bits
Ciao Chip: Love & Marriage Chipboard Icons; Engagement Chipboard Icons
Crochet Flowers: Dahlia

Curtsey Boutique
Wedding Gift Bag
Congratulations, Love Birds
CURTSEY BOUTIQUE
began today's blog post with a project
by the new 2013 Creative Team...I just happen to be first!
Love Birds Congratulations Gift Bag
made with tons of goodness from the Curtsey Boutique Shop at Etsy!
I found this sweet, free printable at www.vintagefangirl.com and
printed it onto white cardstock. Here are the step-by-steps and a listing
of the supplies that I used from the Curtsey Boutique Shop
1. After printing the 'love birds' image, use a 2.5"circle punch
to cut out the design; adhere to the center of the doily.
2. Stamp sentiment onto a piece of cardstock,
trim and add to bottom portion of image.
3.Machine-stitch around the perimeter if desired.
4. Using a Ballpoint-Tip Glue Pen, attach a border of brown/white
baker's twine around the edge of the image.
5. Line the top of the doily to just under the hole of the shipping tag
and attach with adhesive or glue dots.
6. Next, attach the paper bow to the top of the doily
using adhesive, foam dot or glue dot.
7. Cluster two white felt roses to the side of the image (or center, if desired)
and add a button or pearl to the center or leave plain.
8. Hand-cut or use a leaf punch to fashion a couple of leaves.
9. Before tying the tag onto the paper bag, fold over the opening of the bag to create a flap.
10. Using the hole of the shipping tag as a guide, punch a hole into the top of the bag.
11. Tie tag on with a length of brown/white baker's twine.

mini album
Simple Stories
Urban Traveler
Cruisin'...Urban Traveler Style!
I'm first up this week at
SIMPLE STORIES
to share some projects made with the new Winter Collections.
Today I've chosen an Urban Traveler mini album and card that I've made!
I'm not much of an 'urban traveler' myself, but my parents take 1-2 cruises a year,
so they were the inspiration for this little mini album :)
so they were the inspiration for this little mini album :)
As you can see, I took a tabbed chipboard album and covered the fronts and backs
with the assorted patterned papers in the collection.
For the wave on the front I used an acrylic template by Kiwi Lane.
I just had to use the camera image found on one of the journal cards,
so I trimmed it away from the background before attaching it to the page!
The small alpha stickers are the perfect size for adding a small title to mini albums.
I like adding a 'mat' to the background paper...I also distressed all of the paper
edges with a bit of walnut ink. Keep in mind how you'd like to display your
bulky embellishments so that when the pages are closed, they lay as flat as possible.
It's also nice to have a space where some journaling and dating can be added.
The new collections are loaded with so many fun and interactive
pieces to help bring your creation to life!
Simple Stories has really given us a treat with
chipboard pieces, layered stickers and decorative brads...endless fun!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
More new things are being revealed over the next couple of days and even
more creative projects will be shared by the Design Team over the course of
the next two weeks.

They also make beautiful borders when they're linked together, side-by-side.
