Blowing Kisses Tussie Mussie

Cone shapes can be turned into party hats, trees, tussie mussies and more!

Today I have a Valentine’s Tussie Mussie using the sweet “Blowing Kisses” Collection by

I started with a 12x12 sheet of “Tribal Chevron” paper (side B) and a cone pattern

that I found online. There are many, many cone patterns available so just pick your

favorite version! Next, I traced the pattern onto the paper, cut out and assembled.

To the opening of the cone, I added a trim of fringe that I made with white crepe

paper streamer. ..it’s easy to make! Cut three 1 yard lengths of the crepe paper

streamer and stack them together. Machine- stitch (straight stitch) down the center

of the stack. Fold along the stitching and place back onto the sewing machine

with the stitching to the right of the needle. Sew another straight stitch about ¼”

from the first stitching. Cut slits into the streamer to create the fringe look.

Glue around the inside-opening of the cone…I doubled mine to give it a nice, fluffy look.

The front of the tussie was decorated with a layering of beautiful die-cut papers and stickers!

A generous picot-edged ribbon bow was added to the bottom and the same ribbon

was used for the hanger at the top.

Fill your cone with your favorite wrapped candies and have on display for family or friends who may stop by. Make smaller cones for children’s parties or for co-workers.

The vibrant colors of “Blowing Kisses” will definitely create many oooh’s and ahhh’s!

Altered Art Basic Grey Embroidery Hoops Hillside Collection Home Decor tutorial

Hillside Hoop'la

Hello there and a happy Wednesday to you!

I had this really sweet project up yesterday on the blog at

This is an inexpensive home décor project featuring the new “Hillside” Collection

and a couple of wooden embroidery hoops that you can find in craft or fabric stores.

For this project I have used a 4” and 6” embroidery hoop. First, I traced the very

outside edge of each of the hoops; this will leave enough excess for tucking the

paper around the inner hoop.

Next, trim out the tracing, leaving about a ¼” border as shown in the photo above.

Using small, micro-tip scissors, snip the paper up to the trace line creating little tabs

in the edge of the paper as you go around the circle.

Fold the paper around the edge of the inner hoop and secure the tabs with a quick

drying glue. Place the outer hoop over the inner hoop. Glue the smaller hoop to the

top, center of the completed 6” hoop. Begin decorating!

I started with three of the wooden ‘stakes’ and adhered them to the center of the 4” hoop. Next I layered on the chipboard letters to spell out “Hi”

The kraft tag was added and the “friends” sticker added to the center of it with

foam adhesive. One of the kraft circles was used for the “I” in “hi”.

I kept the rest of the embellishment simple by adding a single orange chipboard

butterfly with hot pink Candy Dot centers!

I love the the piece can sit as it is on a shelf, propped up with an easel or used to

display as wall-art. Create several of these, large and small, and hang in a fun

grouping in a child’s room or craft area! I hope that you enjoy mixing ‘n matching

Greetings! I'm happy to be sharing one of my most recent crafts for

ECHO PARK PAPER

"Little Man" Stacked Blocks

using the new "Little Man" Collection featuring bright colors and sweet artwork!

Need a baby shower or first birthday centerpiece? Try your hand at this oh-so-easy project!

For the boxes, I started with a basic box cutting file from the Silhouette Design Store

and kraft cardstock from Carta Bella. The finished boxes measure 4”, 2.75” and 2” square. The boxes were assembled and then five mats were cut from patterned paper for each box.

I used matching chalk inks to shade the edges, but you may try a walnut ink if you’re going for more of a distressed look! Next, just adhere the mats to the four sides and tops of the boxes.

Now, let’s embellish with goodies from the collection such as cardstock stickers,

die-cuts and enamel dots.

For the sides of the bottom box, I used left over kraft cardstock and the largest Scallop

Nesting Die (measures 3.25”) to cut out four of the shapes. Next, I die-cut four 3”circles

from Side B of the “Plaid” Paper and attached them to the center of the scallops for

foam adhesive. For the front, center scallop, the “Boys Rule” Journal Card

was cut into a 3” circle.

The middle box was embellished with various cardstock stickers and then layered with

smaller star stickers. To the top box, I die cut three of the medium-sized star from the

“Dream Big” Die Set. They were attached with foam adhesive and then embellished

with a medium blue enamel dot.

A hole punch was used to create a hole in the top of the box and a small piece of paper

straw was glued into place. A chenille pom pom was a added, along with a banner

stick and some twine.

Buttons from my stash, larger die-cut stars layered with smaller star stickers were

used in completing the fun look! A grand keepsake for any “Little Man” in your life!

2016 Planner Carpe Diem Crop-A-Dile Planner Simple Stories We R Memory Keepers

Carpe Diem...It's 2016!

Hello and Happy New Year's Wishes to you!

As a gift to myself, I prepped my Carpe Diem Planner by

SIMPLE STORIES

so that I can greet the New Year prepared!

I will be honest and say that I was torn between choosing the Aqua Planner and the Coral Planner. As you can see, I chose Coral, but after a little thought, I was able to add a pop of the aqua color too!

I added a trio of large, aqua eyelets to the leather closure strap of the planner. To do so, I used a crop-a-dile punch, but a leather punch can be used as well.

I also wanted to change the length of one of the ball chains for the charm, so a pair of

wire snips were used to cut a piece from the strand. The heart charm was embellished

with a few light-colored coral enamel dots.

To keep all of my extra goodies and planner pages in one spot, I chose to use the

handy clear box for the Daily Planner Insert pages. It has a handle on the top so I was

able to clip on the packages of Stickers and Clips by attaching them with a ring.

I had an extra charm leftover, so I added it to the inside pocket area of the binder!

I kept the inside pretty simple and basic. I organized the front section with stickered tabs

from the Basic Divider Pack.

I dressed up one of the Pocket Pages with Bits & Pieces so that it can hold bills

and coupon booklets.

For the monthly divider pages, I added some of my own hand-drawn sentiments to the

all ready adorable designs provided. Here is a look at some of the other decorated dividers:

Before each month's divider page, I added a Dashboard Insert just to give it more interest! They were embellished with enamel dots, washi tapes, stickers and die-cuts for even more fun.
