Hello, scrappy friends!
I'm happy to be sharing today over at
SIMPLE STORIES BLOG
This week's theme is Harvest Lane, which is one
of their newest papercrafting collections.
Here is a layout featuring photos that I took at our town's Octoberfest,
held every year on the first Saturday of the month.
Of course, machine-stitching goes hand-in-hand with the
cozy, homespun feel of Harvest Lane. I also added paper flowers,
a strip of velvet ric-rac and jute-stitched buttons from my stash.
By simply cutting strips of patterned papers I created a colorful mat for my photos!
Clustering different stickers along with journal strips, makes layout-creating easy and fun.
Keeping dimension in mind, I use both thin and thick foam
dots/tape in stacking the various elements.
I wanted a bit of a 'lift' to the leaf stickers, so I brushed on a
little baby powder to the areas that I didn't want to stick :)

To me, Simple Stories Flash Cards were made for cardmakers!
Just trim out your favorite design, mat it with a couple of papers and embellish just a smidge...
For this card, I took two different journaling cards and trimmed them
from their rectangular size to instead showoff the contour of their trendy scrolls.
Again, I layered the different pieces with various thicknesses of foam dots.
I had a couple of felt apples in my stash and thought they would match perfectly with the theme.
After attaching two cardstock stickers together, I glued them to the apple fronts with fabric glue.
I really like the way it turned out...it's happy and makes me SMILE :)
