"It's a Girl" Altered Frame

Greetings!  I was up on the
CARTA BELLA PAPER BLOG
a few days ago with a sweet altered frame using the

I purchased this decorative wooden frame from Michael’s and painted around
the edges with an olive green acrylic paint.

Next, I traced around the frame’s design onto side B of the“Journaling Cards” Paper
To apply adhesive, I ran the paper through my Xyron 9" Creative Station
and then adhered to the front of the frame.
Afterwards, I lightly sanded around the edges to give a shabby, worn look.

Now came the fun part…embellishing!
With foam adhesive, I added the “Baby” banner stickers along the side and
embellished with medium sized red enamel dots.

To the inside of the frame, I cut a piece of the “Alphabet Paper”(side B) to 5X7.
It was layered on top with one of the journal sentiment cards. Various chipboard,
designer brads, ephemera pieces and enamel dots were added in fun, clustered designs.

The inset of the frame can be removed later on and a personal photo can be added.
Mom can use the journal card embellishment for a scrapbook page or pocket page!

For a soft, finishing touch, a large bow was added to the bottom.  I found a button
from my stash and inserted the prongs of the brad through the button holes before attaching to the center with fabric glue.

A frame like this can also easily be turned into a door hanger by securing a loop
of ribbon to the top…any new mom would love such a gift!
If you love this collection, but need one for "boy" instead, be sure to
