Ahoy, friends! I'm up on the
CARTA BELLA PAPER BLOG
with a nautical shadowbox that I’ve decorated with pieces from
I started with a 10X10 shadowbox frame with an 8X8 inset.
I removed the back of the frame and used it to begin building my design on!
I chose the“Nantucket” paper for the main background and then began adding
clusters of embellishments. I also added a border to the top and bottom
of the paper with the Woodgrain Washi Tape.
To the lower, left corner I used the largest label die from the
Designer Label Set #5 and die-cut the design from side B of the
“Alphabet Letters” paper. Next, I layered on one
of theEphemera label pieceswith foam adhesives. To the center of it, the
chipboard sailboat and various stickers and enamel dots were attached.
Now that the inside of the shadowbox has been decorated, it was placed back
inside of the frame. I outlined the front of the glass with a trim of red/white/blue
twine and some fabric glue.
To finish off the shadowbox, I covered the front of the frame by cutting a piece
Next, I cut an 8”x8” square from the very center of the paper and then attached
to the front of the frame. The edges of the paper were inked with a walnut ink
to carry out the rustic, nautical feel!
