A Date Night Evening Bag

I'm so excited about my first project with Chickaniddy Crafts
 and their Date Night Collection
 As an altered girl, I love to look for unusual shapes that will make a unique mini album;
take for instance this scrolled waterfall shape that took on the appearance of a whimsical evening bag!

The foundation of the album pages are a mat board that I die cut using the shape.
Next, I cut the different 12X12 Date Night patterned papers in half and then die cut them as well.

For the cover decoration, I hand-cut an oval shape from the silver foil paper.
I love the glint that it gives, plus an evening bag should have some glamor!  Next, I die cut
a couple of oval shapes and then layered them together with a few cardstock stickers.
Before adhering the page to the mat board, I hand-stitch two X's and also added
two of the adorable Date Night Brads.

Pages 2-3: For each of the inner pages, I cut the Backwoods Lovin' paper into 4"X6" size,
attached them to the center of the page and then machine stitched around the edge.
These can be used as photo mats OR as a nice backdrop for a journal card (as shown above).
NOTE: Before I adhered page TWO to the mat board, I cut a length of 2" wide ribbon
and then glued it to the mat board with fabric glue. I used approximately an 8" length of ribbon.
This will be the front handle of the album.

Pages 4-5: If you're making this album to give as a gift, think of all of the fun things that
one might do on a date night or date day!  Use these as themes for individual pages: the movies,
out to dinner, the theater, dancing, etc.  Layer on your stickers with foam adhesive and
use die-cuts to lend even more detail.

Pages 6-7:  On these two pages I have used the fun cut-outs from the Cutest Couple paper!
Attach them with a brad and allow the piece to move OR glue the tag in place and
accent with a ribbon bow and button.

Pages 8-9:  Let's highlight some more of that lovely Silver Foil Paper!
Don't be afraid to die-cut it or punch it into a beautiful butterfly.  The paper has a great
weight and holds up perfectly under the pressure of various die-cutting procedures.
I can honestly say that I haven't met a foil paper like this!

Pages 10-11: Here I have used the Mini Sticker Banners and flowers from the
Sticker Sheet to play as the accents.  Apply the stickers directly to the page or give
them dimension by attaching them with foam adhesive.  And don't forget to add
some texture with those adorable Enamel Hearts!
NOTE:  Once again, before adhering the final page to the mat board, glue on the strip
of ribbon for the back hanger.

Now for the binding:  This album measures 11" wide at the bottom (base).
Cut a sheet of 12X12 paper (I've used Love Letters) to measure 11"X 12".
Place paper onto a score board and score the 12" length every 1/2".
Accordion fold the paper into pleats.
Using a high-tack adhesive, attach each page of the album between
two of the pleats and adhere on each side (as shown in the photos).
To allow ease of page-flipping, be sure NOT to adhere the pleats between the pages;
you can see how this has been done on all of the pages above.
