An Elegant Notebook

Authentique and Top Dog Dies are teaming up over the next week
to bring you tons of inspiration using Authentique Paper and Top Dog Dies products!

For my project, I've used Top Dog Dies' A2 Card #1 Die to create
a rather handy and elegant notebook.

Notebooks make great little gifts to have on hand...and they're so easy
and quick to put together.  Here's a look at the die that I've used:

I started by cutting the shape from a mat board, although any type of heavy
chipboard would work just fine.  Next, cut two different patterned papers from the
Classique: Elegant Collection using the same die.
Cut all pieces along the score lines so that you have three different sections for the
mat board and patterned papers. Set aside.

First we will assemble the bottom flap of the notebook.
Have the rectangular base and one rounded piece of mat board on hand.
For the bottom flap: cut a strip of paper the same width as the mat board and at least 1" high.
Score at the 1/4" and 3/4" marks and fold as shown above.  Adhere the scored flaps
to the base of the mat board and the bottom flap of the matboard.

Next, adhere the die-cut papers to the mat board pieces.
I found that using my Xyron Creative Station worked perfectly for this.
Punch holes along the top pieces (as shown above) using a Cinch or Bind-It-All.
Cut notebook paper or copy paper to fit the inside of the notebook; punch matching holes
at the top of the papers. Bind together with a metal or plastic comb.

With the pieces assembled, we now have a bound notebook!

For the front, I used Top Dog Dies' Heart Doily Dies and the Classique: Elegant papers.
One of the Components' stickers sits in the middle, followed by flowers from Petaloo.
