We're stamping up some fun with a
XYRON & PAPER SMOOCHES BLOG HOP
this week! Be sure to start with the Xyron Blog
I've created two projects for today's hop using
Paper Smooches' "Giddy Bugs" Stamp Set.
My first is a card that I paper-pieced using a few stamped
images and different patterns of paper:
To begin, I selected some fun prints from DCWV's "Honey Chic" paper pad.
I stamped the notebook paper with the butterfly image and
Momento Tuxedo Black ink.
I chose purple dot print for the wings, lime diamond print for the body and a
lilac woodgrain for the face. Each print was stamped with the image and Tuxedo Black
ink and then carefully cut out with micro-tip scissors.
The pieces were then made into stickers with the 1.5" Xryon Sticker Maker.
Next, I took the stickered pieces and dressed the butterfly.
After finishing the butterfly, I cut out around the design with an oval die.
I use the 1/4" High Tack Adhesive tape to layer the card pieces together, as well as
a way for adhering the strip of ribbon to the cardfront.
My next project is a quick and easy water-colored fridge magnet using the same
"Giddy Bugs" stamp set and papers by Lawn Fawn:
I stamped the bee image onto a white textured cardstock with black Staz-On.
I used three different shades of yellow Aquarelles water-color pencils by
Faber Castell and a blending tool by Stampin' Up!
I stamped the bee image onto the blue paper and then layered on the cut-out.
I wanted to make the base a little sturdier, so I die-cut the same size circle as the blue
paper from a medium weight chipboard. I added adhesive to the back of the blue
paper and then adhered. Finally, I added two strips of 3/4" Magnet Tape to the back.
Now it's ready for hanging!
Enjoy today's hop! Your next stop for today is Yvonne Yam's Blog.
